Well.....

My gf and i bought a rex together for her, picked it up the sarvo. 99 model 59k kms, forged pistons and sti rods, other than that standard and i put the exhaust on the sarvo. As my r33 is still bein rebuilt (at the machinist atm so waiting for the block and its done finally hopin in the next week or two and its finished), i havent actually had any boost in bout 7 months. So i took the wrx for a very conservative run in the hills just then, and it was so so sweet that feeling of boost again oh boy theres goin to be a cruise soon as the r33s ready i cant wait. But as i said hmmmm boost is so so sweet......

Yeh nice work Dan......... I drove a auto WRX the other night also, found it to be surprisingly laggy off the line, but once up and going they pick up quite nicely! Just gota watch the g/box with them, cos............. BANG they go! but im sure your missus will be fine in it!

LOL @ Deluxe :P

Not a case of "missing" boost, but with the highflow installed last week, and the all important extension of my seat rails - cheers Pete, Im loving this "new and improved" boost! hahaha

sad but true, highflows are just so suited to Stageas. hell, Im even experiencing loss of AWD traction :D

now thats a first for me.

hoped the rebuilt '33 goes well, good luck with the runin

well given im missing my licence right now wen i got to drive the sissior lift around the other day was my little moment

sorry to hijak just had to share my moment as well

lol, guys i can relate. my 33 has been defected for a month or so now and ive been driving around in an....

EA Falcon :huh::kiss:

i drove my 33 on monday to regency on factory boost and ecu, i was so happy just to feel the boost and power.

even tho it was nothing compared to before

i have an addiction to BOOST... ect.

not being nasty, but good luck with the gearbox.

whatever you do dont stick anything other then the standard clutch in it.

a mate has spent more money on replacement gearboxs and rebuilt gearboxes with dog gears etc then what he payed for the car. (im not joking)

and any work you get on the trans has absolutely NO Waranty.

2 days later Bang! another $5000 ouch.

Hence now he has sold the car and purchased a nissan.

Just be carefull is all im saying.

Yeh i realise this lol, but im keeping it standard except for the 3" zorst. it has had the 1st-4th syncros replaced in it and has a sti clutch in it. My gf wont be launching it or smashing it into gear i have been teaching her to be very careful with the gearbox, but thanks anyway :-) .

For that kind of money in broken box's, wouldn't they have been better off upgrading it to an STi 6 speed? From what I know these are meant to be a lot stronger than the POS that's in every other WRX.

Hey lads.

Thats the info for Aarons Sliding Performance highflow turbochargers, with prices on the 1st page. Although you must check the availability tho, he's a busy man.

I supplied a shagged R33 turbo to be highlfowed (thanks Bunta), and I had a shagged R32 turbo on hand too (was an ebay highflowed VG30 turbo, LOL, not - I got jipped). Aaron gave me a decent deal for the supply of 2 turbos, the R33 for the highflow and the R32 simply for his stock.

hhhhmmmmm Boost is so so sweet, I wanna turn it up some more!

    • So..... it's going to be a heater hose or other coolant hose at the rear of the head/plenum. Or it's going to be one of the welch plugs on the back of the motor, which is a motor out thing to fix.
    • The oil pressure sensor for logging, does it happen to be the one that was slowly breaking out of the oil block? If it is,I would be ignoring your logs. You had a leak at the sensor which would mean it can't read accurately. It's a small hole at the sensor, and you had a small hole just before it, meaning you could have lost significant pressure reading.   As for brakes, if it's just fluid getting old, you won't necessarily end up with air sitting in the line. Bleed a shit tonne of fluid through so you effectively replace it and go again. Oh and, pay close attention to the pressure gauge while on track!
    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
