PORCHE BOXTER = GAY/SHIT/SLOW/GIRLS CAR

FOR THE SAME MONEY U CAN GET A SIMILLAR VINTAGE AUDI TT

U WOULD GET WAY MORE ATTENTION IN A SUPS THAN A BOXTER.

SORRY TO BE A HATER BUT I SERIOUSLY RECKON PORCHE f**kED UP WITH THE BOXTER, BUT IT GIVES CHICKS A NICE CAR TO CRUISE IN

If the Boxster didn't exist, in all likelihood, neither would Porsche... so i'd be thankful for it's existance.

I find your theory funny that a Boxster is a girls car, yet an Audi TT isn't

PS For the record I like TT's

:D

Every single comment of yours I have seen is f**king stupid. Stop f**king leaving your caps lock on, shut the f**k up and piss off with your constant negativity. You detract from the discussions you post in everytime and it is only to offer another droll idiotic slander at someone or something. STFU.

"As if your car has anywhere near 500kws...

"I cant get over the meat head (strong words but hey, truth hurts) mentality of some people...

The thread starter seems to like Porsches...if it makes you smile and you look forward to driving it then get it.

PS...im more a British sports car man, some like Porches etc...it seems some are die hard Nissan ppl, which is cool. But there are more automotive flavours to be savoured then just Nissan :woot: "

Nice one Roy. I'm going through the cars i wanted as a boy phase and i have my zilla...maybe i'll go the 930 next...or maybe a series 2.5 E type 4.2L.

As for the price, man you think buying a GT-R is a bit of a gamble try buying a $48K moddified 930 and see what happens :ninja:

audi TT = VW golf

now that's a hair dresser car

boxter is a MR porsche, if they really stuffed it up you won't see the release of Cayman

that is close to the funniest thing I have heard all week. audi TT over a porsche boxter... I can easily tell from here you have never driven or even been in either of them. possibly never even seen either in the flesh. it's a mystery to me how anyone could want a TT in this day and age.

Hey, hey, hey, let's leave the Golf's out of it...

:ninja:

from memory they are using the same chassis, aren't they?

yes they do but nothing wrong with the golf. plus the new AUDI TT just won "2006 drive car of the year" Drive

Yep I'm still keen on the boxster despite the negativity.

I honestly think the negativity comes from those who have not driven a boxster and don't know how good the boxster is or believe people who buy such cars consider themselves superior.

I don't think I'm superior, i simply want a drivers car and now the boxster seems like reasonable value. Horespower isn't my number one objective and so a car that can do 0-100 in less than 7 seconds will do me. I spent a week driving a Peugot 206 GTI. Although not fast, it was definately enjoyable. The boxster should be all this and more.

Cheers

PS. I would think my car would do 0-100 in around 6 seconds so there may not be that much of a difference.

The only way you could look like more of a fag than driving a TT is by getting license plates that say MAN53X.

At least the Boxster handles like a proper sports car. Its a car for someone who wants to carve corners on a nice mountain or coastal road. Not a surfeit of power, but great to get the wind in the hair and a car that does what you tell it to, when you tell it to.

The TT is what happens when you let stylists anywhere near automotive design. Its not just a boring drive, the original TTs were dangerously unstable at high speeds.

If I were you, I'd be more sorry about being a f**kwit than being a hater. I'd ask you what's wrong with the Boxster, but I don't think you know jack shit. The Boxster is a proper Porsche. The Cayenne (and upcoming Panamera) are not.

In that case, buy a Mazda NC MX5 soft top, with the Touring pack.

You will look like a complete homo in a MX5, but you will love the way that car handles. And it'll be brand new, your servicing will cost around $250 a go from Mazda, and insurance will be lower.

Just give it a catback, to get some more noise and free up the top end a bit (the engine is quite flexible and torquey from low in the rev range, and has a great crackle on over-run) and maybe some swaybars to take out some of the bodyroll, and that is all you need do.

Have you ever driven a Cayenne or Cayenne Turbo? I'm guessing you havent. I can safely say they a the best handling and best performing SUV on the market. Most of my workmates would choose a cayenne over one of the sports cars. For a big car they handle, they ride and you can take the family! A car that can truely be labelled "Sports Utility Vehicle. Unfortunately (or fortunately I can attest to the Cayenne's saftey after one I was in left in a sticky situation, which had the car ending up in a mud pit sliding sideways into an armco. If it had been any other car I wouldnt be here right now.

Smurf: It sound like your intentions are right. Don't listen to these knockers. DO IT. You wont regret it. if its a drivers car you want this is the car, LOOK NO FUTHER. Just get a 2.7 though if you cant stretch the 3.2 Boxster S, you wont regret it.

I walked away from that with only glass on me and scratches on my hand. (i was sitting in the front passengers seat.

    • Cheers. Skyline is back on the menu, can’t get rid of it. It’s like a child you don’t want, or herpes
    • I got back to Japan in January and was keen to get back on track as quickly as possible. Europe is god-awful for track accessibility (by comparison), so I picked up a first-gen GT86 in December just to have something I could jump into right away. The Skyline came over in a container this time and landed in early January. It was a bit battered after Europe, though—I refused to do anything beyond essential upkeep while it was over there. The clutch master cylinder gave out, and so did the power steering. I didn’t even bother changing the oil; it was the same stuff that went in just before I left Japan the first time. Naughty. Power steering parts would’ve cost double with shipping and taxes, so knowing I’d be heading back to Japan, I just postponed it and powered through the arm workout. It took a solid three months to get the car back on the road. Registration was a nightmare this time around. There were a bunch of BS fees to navigate, and sourcing parts was a headache. I needed stock seats for shaken, mistakenly blew 34k JPY on some ENR34 seats—which, of course, didn’t fit—then ended up having the car’s technical sheet amended to register it as a two-seater with the Brides. Then there’s the GT86. Amazing car. Does everything I want it to do. Parts are cheap, easy to find, and I don’t care what anyone says—it’s super rewarding to drive. I’ve done a few basic mods: diff ratio, coilovers, discs, pads, seat, etc. It already had a new exhaust manifold and the 180kph limiter removed, so I assume it’s running some kind of map. I’ve just been thrashing it at the track non-stop—mostly Fuji Speedway now, since I need something with higher speed after all that autobahn time. The wheels on the R34 always pissed me off—too big, and it was a nightmare getting tires to fit properly under the arches. So I threw in the towel and bought something that fits better. Looks way cleaner too (at least to me)—less hotboy, less attention-seeking. Still an R34, though. Now for future plans. There are a few things still outstanding with the car. First up, the rear subframe needs an overhaul—that’s priority one. Next, I need to figure out an engine rebuild plan. No timeline yet, but I want to keep it economical—not cutting corners, just not throwing tens of thousands at a mechanic I can barely communicate with. And finally, paint. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.
    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
