They didnt mention the car being an import or a high performance car, nor did they mention the drivers being young...

Therefore it must have been a ford laser filled with old ladies on their way home from the bingo hall...

See it just does not get the medias full attention does it...!!!

NOTE: Take my post with a gain of salt...

I saw a VT wrapped around a pole on Tuesday lunch time on the corner of Days & Lutwyche Roads...

It was a lady in her 30's and she was attending her daughter in the back of the car while driving at 60kph...

She could have gone through the front of the shops on that corner and killed people... Lucky there was a pole there, maby now they will put up a crash barrier... It made the news also, as the camera crews were there when i drove past...

Anyway this has nothing to do with this topic, but i felt like sharing anyway... :(

They reakon he was doing 100.

And Duporth Ave is confusing - it appears to be a 60 zone but it is infact a 50 zone. I used to live on it.

there was nothing left of the car, i reckon he was doing more than 100...police have no need to talk it up though, it wasnt a young person driving, nor was it a modified/import car. Most of duporth is unmarked and a built up area, therefor a 50 zone.

There was something left of the car.

It looked nowhere near as bad as the crash a few weeks ago in mountain creek. I'd put it at 120 tops - plus, where he crashed gave him about 100-150m of acceleration space if the newspaper was correct in identifying where he crashed (By the christian center).

dammit there goes out lil freedom whatever we had.. this is why Tracks are used for fooling around .. not many people understand that...

Niceest looking supra tho. shame its pretty much totaled

it's being fixed again, not a total write off.

but with the guy who hit the pole on duporth, it just goes to prove that u dont have to be 17 and own a high powered sports car to be a fool behind the wheel, i hope the police take notice of the facts that he was 30 and owned a family sedan.... then maybe they can start picking on the ppl who deserve it.

the sunshine coast daily article in regards to this was a joke. The police were winging about young ppl in fast cars, amongst other things about educating young drivers etc. It really did p*ss me off. I do agree with a lot of the things in regards to young ppl in fast cars and under educated drivers but if anything this only proves exactly what you have just said..you dont have to be 17 and in a high peformance car to have a crash and cause a fatality. Maybe the police should take a look at whats really going on and realise this too!

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
