Duncan, let me know what you find out about this sort of setup.

I want to setup 2 cameras for incar, and two external. So obviously, will be soon in the want to buy some new cameras too... (Or might run them on a computer... Cheaper for me)

Hi all, I am looking at using a lipstick camera for the new incar video setup.

Has anyone used one before?

Which sort of camera do I need? Which size lens is ideal for car use?

How was the picture quality?

I use one of these for a reverse camera. not that bad- waht are you doing exactly?

waht are you doing exactly?

I am doing a new in-car setup for racing and targa.

Previously I just mounted a camera in a box on the cage between the seats, but the problem is you get way too much dash and roof, eg http://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/woocrash.wmv

So instead I want to look into mounting a lipstick camera on the guard or spoiler front or rear, and putting the camera anywhere inside the cabin.

Thanks Steve I'll give them a shout

I wonder what the resolution of "Web Cams" are these days? You could have a laptop with a USB port extender, and have 4 or 6 USB web cams plugged in. They are relatively inexpensive, i'd pop my head into a computer shop and ask, or have a look on the logitech website.
