SKYLVIA
Well with the Wii being released this week i figured id chuck up a thread and see how much interest this console has... even though its not as hardcore as the 360, and nowhere near ps3, i reckon it looks heaps fun! i know ill be getting it for Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Smash Bros Brawl. you can also download games from previous systems, except the GameCube. so it should be quite interesting me thinks... plus the controller looks really funky, would only be game enough to play it in the privacy of my own home with no one around... ive heard mixed things about this being Region free. im not 100% sure if it is, but with the system taking normal size discs, it should be too long before this thing has a decent modchip So who's getting a Wii? Kaido_RR
i think i might pick one up im keen to see how the R.E series plays out with the controller! If your interested in buying one check out Toy R Us, they are doing a deal $500 (or $600) for the Wii and 2 games, Save something like $500 of something like that. not sure if the deal is in every state but at the one i work at (perth) they have it. The sale started today and end sometime in dec Cheers Michael Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/145617-nintendo-wii/#findComment-2721394 Share on other sites

SKYLVIA
yeah i saw the Toys R Us deal for $600+ but im only after the Wii and zelda game at the moment, so a second game would really interest me... the good thing about the Wii is that its cheap, while i can still afford the PS3, its good to see a console that inst getting close to the $1000 mark... ive heard from some people in the states that the controls are actually quite easy to get used to and much better than the GC I wouldnt mind more info on SSBB, theyve done well with the previous smash bros, and apparently Brawl is supposed to have 40+ characters... Buying one for sure just so wife has a system to play on, you have no idea how easy it is to just pick thing up and play. Great "come-home-drunk-and-play-games" machine Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/145617-nintendo-wii/#findComment-2726533 Share on other sites

SKYLVIA
I'm getting one as well plus Zelda: Twilight Princess. It's almost here! apparently its 70-80 hours of gameplay and hyrule is huuuuuuuuge. seems much darker than any other zelda ive played. i hope its not too much of a pain to use the Wiimote... MacGuyver
Yeah I've heard that it's pretty big as well. I was a little unsure about how good it would translate to the Wii, but I've seen heaps of videos of people playing it on the internet and they don't seem to struggle at all. Basically you don't have to play it by waving your hands around like a lunatic, small movements will still get you there. At the moment there are stations set up at shopping centres around Oz where you can try it for yourself. I was also thinking about picking up Red Steel but I've heard very mixed reviews about it, and apparently there is a glitch that causes the targeting reticule to move about wildly at random. Might hire it out first. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/145617-nintendo-wii/#findComment-2727497 Share on other sites

Rekin
my friend got one at midnight, just came back from his place. Its awesome haha, all the mini games are cool especially boxing, darts etc. For FPS you use the joystick and the actual remote as the aimer, so instead of mouse u move the controller to aim. MacGuyver
I got one yesterday, it's really sweet. The Wii Sports game that you get with the machine is OK, bowling and golf are my favourites. Zelda is awesome as well so far but I wish there was an easier way to look around without going into the first person view.
