My message, and a Number to help ya :)

Hi Jeff,

I'm wondering if you can clarify something for me. Are you able to do a remap on an R33 GTS-t Series 1? My car is presently running quite rich (I think) as I put in new spark plugs just over 3 weeks ago when I bought the car, and it feels as if they have fouled already (slight miss in low revs). So I would like to get the car on the dyno and tuned for its current state. Presently I have a cat-back 3.5" exhaust, Mushroom filter and stock boost. I would like to get a turbotechbleed valve, and have the boost set at 10PSI and a tune to suit. Can you tune my 33 to suit these mods? Im looking for a good safe tune that will give me good results for every day driving.

Cheers

Lee

Hi Lee,

Sorry for the late reply, i must have missed your message before.

I can remap the R33 although it works out a little more expensive than most of the other nissans.

Please give me a call and i can fill you in on all the details.

lol, cubes is a sook. sleep is for the weak!

"Weak sauce" is the term..I think! :D

you should read it :D

i couldn't imagine doing that to a guy :)

Eeewwwww :D

Damn it was cold last night! Got to work today down in Cudlee Creek, turned on a water tap and no water would come out the hose, the water inside had frozen!!! :)

LOL thats cold!

You know, how I know it's cold....... ;)

Friend of mine works for GPA engineering. Local consulting firm that deals quite a bit with Santos, SA Water, Zinifex etc. Based locally with a fair bit of site work. Could be another good option, as sometimes the big companies you listed tend to forget you're a person, and think you are just a cheap resource ;)

Yeah, one of my mates is with GPA too (just stareted this yr), Worleys too. Some at Santos ( I worked there too for 3 months over summer), Adelaide Brighton & BHP.

I'm actually a bit worried about becoming a 'number' with the big boys. :)

But at the same time I don't wanna go into consulting I want real engineering work not just purely design. (I got an offer from KBR but i think ill turn it down just coz i dont see myself sitting in an office all the time doing design stuff)

lol im sure there out there bit off topic but type in wrx tow or wrx crash (cbf finding too drunk atm) and theres a bug eye wrx in the states bein towed and numb nuts forgot to turn it too on so steering lock kicked in and bang towed into a tree its so sad but bein yanks its funny, and also all the commo one wheeler burnouts turnin into crashes lol

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
