Cheers for that cubes!

Do you do this in your shed with the car on Jack stands, or is a hoist really more necessary?

Also, where can you get a flywheel machined southern suburbs, and any idea of cost?

Cheers!

I've only done one on the ground with jack stands and found it quite easy.

The old man used to have a pit in the house he recently sold; doing a gearbox in the pit was easy to get to bolts etc BUT getting the thing up and down was a pain in the arse as I had no gearbox lift. :D

No idea of where to get a flywheel machined down south, I used to do it down at a mates girlfriends dads mechanics shop at Aldinga when I was younger. I'll have to look soon though as Im up for another clutch soon. :S

Last time I had my flywheel machined the machinist did it as it was also being balanced for the new motor.

Ohhhh noooo scandyflick!!

What happened to the soara?

its still available afaik.

but using the money to move out will be infinitely better for my sanity.

ill have to wait and see though.

:) i'm sooooooooooooo happy today hehe

the lady (Lois) i help out in the op shop asked me today what i'm gonna do

after i've finished me hours there. i said i'd probably continue working there

and she had the biggest smile on her face.

i've only been there just over a month and they already trust me hehe

it's great.

she said it's hard to come by people like me :) (you should all take note of that :))

I tried to do some local volunteer work early last year.

It was a government organisation that helped elderly people get to there doctor's apointments, specialists, etc, etc. So i got all the info and arranged to have a meeting with the manager. And i got there and they laughed at me and said "why would a young person like you want to do that" so i went "ok" then and left.

f**k them if they are gonna laugh at me. Try to do something to help the community.

its still available afaik.

    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
