More individual tests and a couple professional tests will and would be good, as it broadens the range of tests done i say, but will clearly watch this page closely

maybe they should like alot BIN Numbers to them like penfolds red wines :D how many bins it took to get the perfect one. But aggreed, its trial and error to which batch you get/got

Yep we can compare it exactly to wine :)

ok as you know i recived my plenum a while ago got around to doin some work to it i have pics of before and after i will post up soon

well the casting was pretty average on the inlet ports they were a fair bit smaller in some cases which i can live with cause i had all intesion of match porting it anyways

i die grinded eveything came up a treat also clease up the water holes

i also cleaned up the inlet the inside was all pretty good wat you would expect form any plenum pretty much the same as my standard one

i then preped the top half of the plenum and grinded away the part where the greddy is normaly stamped

i then have sprayed it with this spray on bog stuff which give it a nice smooth fininsh only problem was i only done the top half not the bottom so that started to flake off cause of the crap dodgy silver paint that its painted in so im suggesting that you should get it diped n cleaned before any painting is done

i dont see how it will brake as it is structual solid no weakness

i can see improvment in air flow by a big diffrence but tune will only tell

all this was done in the matter of say 12 hrs (and i dont work fast lol)

pics will be up as soon as i can get them up

Thanks from the update, keep us posted :)

Just a suggestion.

I would not use any bog type spray on the plenum, as the aluminium expands and contracts as it heats and cools, which may result in cracks appearing in the bog, or the bog flaking off.

My mate had his genuine GReddy plenum powder coated, b4 install, and within a month crack were seen. The powder coater i/we use does awesome work and no cracks/faults on any other engine parts. My standard plenum is also p/c'ed and cracks can also be seen.

yer have progressed alot in fact is it finished but my camera died i have painted it gloss black to keep it well sort of stelth iov moved away from the polished look ill try n get pics up asap

i will put up my dyno result as soon as i can to might get it flow tested will its off

i spose you can i dont know much about the 32's im guessing the ports would be smaller but being a stock standard car i would not bother my standard manifold supported up to 280rwkw try and find one already done for a rb20

HAHA i hope these are the ones hydro'ing engines as the water port was taped into the intake runner..... if nto all good, i prefer the finish of the genuine ones but hey who am i to judge if it works. :P

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
