I didnt think you had vvt in the 26 head?

Just out of interest have you spoken to Robbie at RIPS?

http://www.ripsltd.co.nz/

sori, vct/ yea a lil but hes a busy guy, if im not payin him i dnt think he want to help??

and its a huge toll call lol,,

thanks

go to the first page and download the pdf guide after you read that and if there are any specific questions to what your doing ask away!

the guide pretty much explains it all when it comes to what goes with what and how.

Read it carefully as i just put my motor in forgetting to do the RB25 sump mod now i gotta drop the sump off which is a bitch considering i just had the motor out on a stand!!!!!

RB26 does not have any form of VVT/VCT/VTEC

26 heads dont have vct - thats only the gheyass rb25's

my gheyass RB25 doesn't!

kool thanks, so wat do i need to block off etc?

ive neva realy been intrested in rb30s im realy stubbrn like that,, just realy been doin others,

im not going to spoon feed you, read the damn thread and pdf

It's so ghey that HKS decided to make one for the 26 and sell it for a small fortune

sif kill my bagging of the rb25 :(

one a side note, my billet girdles are ready :D

the one you see below is for the 4wd guys, it has the adapter encorporated in it. i can re-design it to make them for rwd rb30's, rwd rb26's & rwd rb20's. this also means my 4wd adapter plates are good to go aswell :D

so these adapters go over the top of the standard girdle?

so these adapters go over the top of the standard girdle?

correct. the std girdle/main caps get machined down to suit.

i initially looked at getting rid of the std cast caps, but when i looked at the caps where the bearings sit, they are not round (oval shaped) and they are slightly recessed - i dont have the funds to do r&d on 2+ motors to get that style of girdle correct, but i do have the funds to do r&d on this style of girdle

Wing it.. If you haven't got half a brain to work out the problems as you come across then its best you don't do the conversion.

Get the two motors in front of you and have a look. Its all quite simple.

yea i get that, i only have the head to look at, block is at machinests waiting on wat to do,

im just tryna cut down time,,,

sorry for asking this probably been asked and answered a few times but im not reading 306 pages.. so can someone please tell me the difference between a rb30 short block and long block.. and does it matter what one i use

Long motor includes bottom end and head and all internal parts but no accessories.

short motor is same as above minus the head, includes internal parts inside the block and sump.

It's obvious what you need for the det conversion.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
