Hi,

sometimes when i drive like 1 out of 1000 times when i change to 3rd or 4th gear i just hear a little crunch

have anyone had this issue?

would it be the syncro or something and how much would it cost to fix this up and where is a good place in sydney that does this and have a good rep

yep its the syncros

prob only happens on high rev changes or quick changes

if its only a little crunch they might only just be on their way out

Redline Superlight weight Shockproof Gear Oil will help the problem

but not fix it...to fix it you will need new syncros i believe they go for about $120 per syncro then add labour costs and possibly new bearings might be needed (usually are)

When people say you need to replace the syncro, is this the whole syncroniser hub assy + blocking rings (on each side), or just the block rings, etc.

If some one had a pic from the Nissan catalogue with arrows saying THIS is what you need to replace to stop the crunch.

Just trying to get a clear idea of what part is creating the noise (and getting damaged)
