if that story is accurate, which it appears to be, it answers alot of questions...drunk, not her car (probably not used to driving it), and speed....worst thing in this case would appear to have been the drinking, if she wasnt drinking she probably wouldn't have been doing 180kmph in a situation which she had no chance of controlling. Shes going to get smashed because of this too, because the police will use it as a PR opportunity and its going to get maximum press!

And if it was directly related to her drink driving then it bloody well should get maximum press. Speeding is one thing.. Drink driving and clocking 180+ in a 60 zone is just f**king stupid. And who gets shafted here? Not the driver.. the poor bloody passenger. I say throw the book at her.

Just spotted on the news, a white 33 with 3 spoke rims destroyed in Redcliffe.

24yo male driver dead, female passenger in critical condtion.

Police stated driver lost control.

Hope it was no one on here. Be careful out there people!

it was the creator of this thread that said the male was driving

making public statements like this on a forum is just askin for u to have ur ass handed to u by everyone.

judging all other womens driving based on your "girlfriends" driving is a unbiased opinion.

pretty stupid call to make on here.

Keep it on topic please. This is about a skyline crash. Not about you telling someone what is a good and bad post.

correct me if im wrong, but I dont see how the female is going to cop anything bad considering she was the passanger of the car.

The police may question her in regards to what the driver was doing at the time but i dont see how she would be coppin the fines/tickets as she wasn't behind the wheel.

but yeh, she will have a lot to now deal with, with the death of a friend or a family member from this accident.

uhh, she was driving the car (which was his)

geezus, what do you have to do to get the message across to people?

thank god these idiots didnt injure any innocent parties which would have made this a million times worse

I'm pretty sure the 10 News report said he was driving, buy anyway its now obvious she was.

Such a waste.

If you are going to drive a car like a tool, do it with no one else in the car and in the right environment.

Just got this email. Not sure how true it is

IMPORTANT: Read this its sad but good to realise that life is short and take things slowly and realise cars KILL!!

hey guys and girls.

I have a little story about last night and the death of a acquaintance.

I knew this guy His name was ryan and he had a GF, ive met him a few times and talked a bit about cars top dude... anyway last night we were at a friends place drinking (no i didnt drive) and he was driving his fairly stock r33 gtst.

I left at about 12am-1am and i thought he was staying there the night with our other friends cause he had been drinking.. About 20mins into walking home i see his car FLYING down the road parallel to the one im walking on (150+). As im walking into a servo about 10 mins after that, I see a firetruck go past and thought nothing of it.

Anyway about a hour later i get a phone call when im a street away from my house saying ryans car is next to totaled in the back of kippa ring service station.

So my good mate who saw it while driving past came and picked me up to take me there.. i made a statement and told them what had been happening. The officer on the scene told me that his GF was driving and had lost control of the car at around 180-kph heading up anzac avenue(60 zone). The servo was completely blocked off but they let me in and CH10 news was there and it might be aired tomorrow on the 5pm news.

Shes now in critical condition at the royal brisbane and hes in the redcliffe hospital morgue.

So if your going to take anything out of reading this take the lesson to not drink and drive or do not get in a car with a drunk driver. I am unbelievably lucky because i was considering to get a lift with them.

perhaps if the police had been targeting skylines more a life would have been saved in this case

WTF?? what a crap thing to say...

dude so you like the attention and getting hasseled?? you drive a Skyline too....

man i think you should go play some where else...

Skylines/imports/V8's should be made illegal for members of the population with a blatant lack of intelligence.

and how are we ment to find out about these people?

drink driving is a bitch... and these people found out first hand....

you see people saying i feel sorry for these people... i really dont..... they desereve(sp) it and more.....

you drink drive and speed you get the consiquences... hmm.. your life and others lives are they realy worth more than a taxi ride??

    • You know how your car rolled through a fence in your last jacking escapade? Scissor jacks increase the likely hood of that sort of thing happening immensely!
    • http://calfinn.com.au/product/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c   I have this and fits under a S3 33 GTR with no issues. Purchased in 2009 and not one issue. It was $950 back then. Not cheap but something so important isn’t worth cheaping out on.
    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
