An 'idiot In A Skyline' Story With A Difference

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

My parents rang me just before, to see if I knew of the owner of a white Skyline (R32 or R33, they weren't sure), rego 978-ISY. It has some sort of pale-coloured graphics up the side (dragons??).

The guy driving is unlicensed, had a woman (presumably his wife/gf) and at least one small child in the car, and according to the officer who took the report, the police are "extremely interested" in catching up with him. According to them he has been causing havoc - and judging by the blow-by-blow account I was getting over the phone when my olds first rang, I don't doubt it. He is around the Ipswich area at the moment but is apparently from the Gold Coast, so could be anywhere in between.

If you see this car, do not go near it. Keep a safe distance, contact the police immediately and help them track it down. After the run-down I was getting over the phone (which I won't repeat here as the matter is already being dealt with by the police) this guy could do anything, so I cannot stress enough to keep your distance and do not stir him up. Sooner or later he's going to piss off the wrong person, and I dread to think what will happen to his passengers.

He was driving like an absolute fool, nearly causing several crashes. My mum was absolutely hysterical on the phone.

If anyone knows this person or has any details that might be helpful, either forward them onto the police, or PM me (do NOT post them here) and I will forward them and maintain your anonimity.

Cheers

Marc

will look around the logan area plus up and down the M1 to southport this week.... is there any other reason this car is so dangerous other than the tosser like driving technique? (ie: weapons, drugs, bin laden, small nuclear device etc...)

im usually around sunnybank - mt gravatt area keep eyes out .. i have seen this car a few months ago.. looked like dragon spike stickers all over the sides the back as well on the boot lid..

Let you guys know if i see him again ..

:(

will keep an eye out..... and my "lawyer" handy *rumages around back seat for base ball bat*

LOL lawyer... mine's in my boot.. dunno if its any help being in there

This blokes probably on smack or sumfin... I knew one person that was on smack and driving.. he thaught he was tommy makinnen or sumfin... morons... skylines don't kill people... stupid motherf*krs in skylines kill people lol

  • 2 months later...

nothing hun, dw about it...

Far be it for us to start doing the police's job for them, thats called being a vigalantie and is getting into the same territory as that whack-woman with her dob-in-a-dope etc websites.

What go's around comes around, if we start informing on people then we will be informed apon ourselfs. The police have everything they need to deal with this bloke, its up to them as to what path they wish to take. Hes never done anything to me or most people here so we should leave it be until he does.

    • Not sure if you're being serious? I, and all the car people i know, ALWAYS use a torque wrench for wheel nuts. I assumed any car person, apart from tyre centre monkeys with rattle gun in hand, would do it properly.  Anyway, no further reply from me on this unless legit discussion from OP or his query so, over to you, knock yerself out.
    • I was wondering about this. I'll do some research.
    • Why not? Since mines been built, I've used low boost maybe 5 times.
    • Yeah, so widen your search to any Nissan speedo first, then go wider if needed. I will say though, that there is a better than even chance that what I said first will likely come into play. They quite possibly won't come apart without damage. I tried to disassemble a stepper gauge that I wanted to repair. There was no way that needle was coming off the spindle, and I could not see how the spindle would come out of the mechanism behind. Assembled once, never to be disassembled, was my conclusion. Could be the same on the R34 cluster. Failing that - take the cluster to a workshop that specialises in automotive instrument work. There's usually at least one in every Australian city. They'll either be able to do it for you for small cost, or tell you it can't be done. It might be that "it can't be done" unless you follow some arcane procedure, including trickiness to glue it back together or something, that only experienced techs know.
    • Well, given that I, an engineer, almost never bring out the torque wrench to tighten up chassis bolts, despite fully knowing the theory, and instead rely on feel, which I happen to know is exactly how the majority of mechanics do things, should tell you the level of actual peril that exists from not achieving exactly 88 Nm of torque. How about if I just say then that 88Nm is at the lower end of the correct wheel nut torque range? Everyone knows how to tighten a wheel nut, right? And almost no-one ever brings out the torque wrench for that task
