^^^^This is what you should be getting angry over (i already am), not some idiot who boasts about his saturday night. i mean who gives a f**k about his bald tyres? :P

I do. Other responsible road users do. People like you don't. It says more about you than it does about the cop.

and do you call this crime???

i certainly don't.

real crime is seeing my mates car stolen :D

If a car thief ring was being organised through the Internet providing the results of them casing your ride, you'd probably be singing a different tune. Or how about people bragging about how they keyed or badged a bunch of cars at so-and-so? Or those clowns at Noble Park Maccas posting their "exploits" up, etc? How often did cops used to get laughed at about all these people opening bragging about their illegal activity online, but the cops were too old and slow to even know about the Internet?

Of course, the article does say its only a "part" of their investigative techniques. Given how many people are co-ordinating things through the Internet (legal or otherwise) these days, or idiots bragging about it afterwards, having detectives look for evidence online is hardly a stretch.

lol, as long as your happy with the way taxpayers money is spent, then thats all that matters :P

Its gotten a complete f**kwit in a Silvia "named and shamed" out into the public consciousness, so he can't go around anywhere without everyone knowing that he's a complete f**k knuckle that brags about acting like a complete tool.

So, all in all, I'm pretty stoked.

If it takes criminals being this stupid to get caught out do you really think the copper was doing 'good work'?

It's like a bank robber getting away only to go to a police station and the sphincter of the universe slap a detective.

Top police work, I feel so safe.

The thing about this is that my acc is accesable than more than just 1 person, and what happens if im just making shit up?

Like in MR GTIR's case its obvious that what he wrote was true, coz the officer can confirm he did it.

But if i say now that i clocked 260km/h on the eastern freeway last nite, mayb im just trying to act cool and stuff.

Well firstly they're [police task force] not as dumb as some of you take them for. If they had evidence (eg. highway patrol witnessing car going at stupid speeds) that confims your story (eg. same time, place, car description etc) then obviously they would follow it up but, simple hearsay :P cos it wouldn't hold up in court.

lol, 3rd thread by me! sorry, I was not in too much of a rush to be bothered to search :P

He should have his car confiscated for good

But then his d-d-daddy just b-b-buys him a n-n-n-n-new one. Probably worth fitting Nankangs if your gunna be replacing tyres all the time though...... aren't they what street-drifters use anyway?!

i'm not in anyway supporting the actions of this ns.com fool.

my point is cops are too tough on general modified cars etc. I use the Chadstone incident as example of that.

If they regularly read the forums, then they will inevitably use the number plates in photos that are posted up etc to catch cars/owners that have "illegal" mods.

This is what i find completely unacceptable. Not that someone was caught who had no license & that lied to police etc...

why would they bother doing that if they just need to pull over any import anyways ?

If they suspect you of something they might come online to see if they can find out more info about you... but whats wrong with that ?

Hi Everyone!

Yeah, goes to show some people just dont learn.

And its these type of people that the hoon laws are aimed at

Well ive never had any of my cars impounded coz i havnt commited a hoon offence! Unlike 10% of sau & ns!

Ive also never written off a car nor had a major accident unlike 50% of sau or ns! Ive only had minor accidents where the other party was at fault! Coz they cant drive & dont deserve a license! Not saying i do!

that was a good laugh.

wonder if he will learn something from this. i doubt. will probs get done driving unlicenced again in a month or so. i put tree fiddy on that.

Glad you enjoyed @ my expense!

I raise you four fiddy sir! :O

deffinately good for a "lol"

Again, glad you enjoyed! Thanx for not calling me an idiot like 95% of the hypocrites that have posted in this topic! :D

you dont have to have your license on you.

So if you dont have it, you give someone else's details and they checkout... :sorcerer:

There is a fine associated, but you dont always get it

Your not as dumb as i thought you were Nismoid! :(

?????

what all you people are missing is the fact that cops have a special unit that "regularly scans such sites as part of the unit's investigative work."

ALL TAX PAYER FUNDED !!!!!! :(

^^^^This is what you should be getting angry over (i already am), not some idiot who boasts about his saturday night. i mean who gives a f**k about his bald tyres?

Sergeant James Robbins is no better than that guy, sitting in front of his comp, jerking off over being able to bust people through the internet....

wake up guys

Wise words bro! Im glad you live outside of the square! :sorcerer:

can't we all just take our pants off and hug?

BAHAHAHAHAHA Funny Kent! :D

Top police work, I feel so safe.

Im happy you feel safe! :) Its not like i was going 2 murder you or something?

But then his d-d-daddy just b-b-buys him a n-n-n-n-new one.

Who the f**k are you Topaz 2 judge me? You dont know me so you cant! I come from a working class family in a working class suburb! Mum & Dad have never bought me a car! Ive worked hard for what i own & proud! Thats probably why im so mess up?

I really dont care about all of yous calling me an idiot! I know i am! Im not driving for 2 years, but i cant stand when people say im a mum or daddys boy or call me a poser!

I own the GTI-R outright! It owes me $30,000 plus of paid money & The S15 is on finance! I work for my cars unlike some lucky ppl! I dont except hand outs! So if you dont know me, dont make assumptions! :(

You dont have to have cars impounded...

Although past incident(s) would've had your car impounded without a doubt.

Pity the hoon laws were actually not a real thing you were pinned for the freeway incident eh?

And sadly, im not as dumb as you think.

why would they bother doing that if they just need to pull over any import anyways ?

If they suspect you of something they might come online to see if they can find out more info about you... but whats wrong with that ?

because its very easy to mail out epa notices etc, from the comfort of their office. why bother doing it the hard way? :D

^^^^^Glad we agree on something Nismoid! I really wouldnt care if you were smart or dumb! :D

In regards to the hoon law! Ask any cop, that was wreckless conduct endangering life! No grounds for impoundment! Wheels were not spinning, wasnt speeding, car wasnt going sideways! So yeah!

ya i guess if thats the objective then it would be easier.. Keep in mind though they do have access to vic roads systems so im sure they could search for 'nissan' or whatever and come up with 100000000000000 rego's if they realy wanted to.

yeah, but often the pictures do the talking, ie engine mods visible. Vic roads can only provide a list of possible suspects, with no proof of mods.

    • @Haggerty this is your red flag. In MAP based ECU's the Manifold pressure X RPM calculation is how the engine knows it is actually...running/going through ANY load. You are confusing the term 'base map' with your base VE/Fuel table. When most people say 'base map' they mean the stock entire tune shipped with the ECU, hopefully aimed at a specific car/setup to use as a base for beginning to tune your specific car. Haltech has a lot of documentation (or at least they used to, I expect it to be better now). Read it voraciously.
    • I saw you mention this earlier and it raised a red flag, but I couldn't believe it was real. Yes, the vacuum signal should vary. It is the one and only load signal from the engine to the ECU, and it MUST vary. It is either not connected or is badly f**ked up in some way.
    • @Haggerty you still haven't answered my question.  Many things you are saying do not make sense for someone who can tune, yet I would not expect someone who cannot tune to be playing with the things in the ECU that you are.  This process would be a lot quicker to figure out if we can remove user error from the equation.
    • If as it's stalling, the fuel pressure rises, it's saying there's less vacuum in the intake manifold. This is pretty typical of an engine that is slowing down.   While typically is agree it sounds fuel related, it really sounds fuel/air mixture related. Since the whole system has been refurbished, including injectors, pump, etc, it's likely we've altered how well the system is delivering fuel. If someone before you has messed with the IACV because it needed fiddling with as the fuel system was dieing out, we need to readjust it back. Getting things back to factory spec everywhere, is what's going to help the entire system. So if it idles at 400rpm with no IACV, that needs raising. Getting factory air flow back to normal will help us get everything back in spec, and likely help chase down any other issues. Back on IACV, if the base idle (no IACV plugged in) is too far out, it's a lot harder for the ECU to control idle. The IACV duty cycle causes non linear variations in reality. When I've tuned the idle valves in the past, you need to keep it in a relatively narrow window on aftermarket ecus to stop them doing wild dances. It also means if your base idle is too low, the valve needs to open too much, and then the smallest % change ends up being a huge variation.
    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
