what about twin hks 3037s. How bad would the lag be on a HKS Step 3 2.8l.

Dude... i give you a tip... just slow down and take your hands off the keyboard and read :)

The last few days you've started some threads with ideas that are getting more and more far fetched as you go. Each thread attracting another 10-15k ontop of the first one which makes you seem as if your a 16yr old kid with "high hopes"

1) 500awhp RB26

2) A 350Z with an RB26 & 4WD running gear

3) 2.8ltr strokers and V-Cams in an all-out setup with 3037's

Just slow down, and do some of your own reasearch please. There is oodles of info here.

Asking blind questions without even an idea of what your asking one after another after another is not going to achieve anything and is a sure-fire way to having your threads locked by me or someone else.

Its great to have ideas, more the better, however there is enough information in the world and especially on this forum.

Please take heed of the advice.

also, if you really do have this kind of coin to throw at a car, why not think about the OS Giken rb30?

You do realise the smaller capacity RB26s are king of the dyno charts in Japan? Also, 8000RPM isn't as fun as 11000 :)

I understand what everyones saying. I did start a couple of threads. The 350z with the rb26dett awd is a dream car and i was jsut trying to see what everyone says. If that plan doesnt go through which it most likely isnt i will defintley be swapping a rb26dett into my 240sx. However im not going to go that crazy on the motor then. If i did the 350z swap then i would get the hks step 3 2.8l and the V-Cam. I do have the loot. I have about 20k to spend.

Shabib - your going to need a LOT more than 20k make.

The stroker kit alone is almost half of that before you even put it together an purchase any other parts at all which comes to probably another 15k

lol i dont necessarily have to get the hks step 3 2.8l. Thats why ive been asking about the tomei 2.8l stroker kit and how much hp it can hold and how high it can rev. Its about 2k cheaper than then the hks kit.

well I'm assuming you are in the states, but even 20K USD is a long way off building the type of car you are talking about. it's not just a matter of buying a 2.8kit, a T04Z and a V-cam and then ships ahoy matey. you will need all new pulleys, harmonic balancer, prepped N1 block, complete re-done head (try buying 24 titanium valves, double valve sprins, retainers, cams, guides and then having it put together) if you want big HP and big RPM, and you want it to last more than a few passes you will need the BEST of everything. add to that a quad plate clutch, a dog gear set (or would sir prefer hollinger sequential at $22K AUD?), then add your new intercooler (cost $2.5K AUD alone), new radiator, twin oil coolers, diff cooler, trans cooler, bearings, gaskets, engine assembley, ignition system, ecu (i'd suggest motec for this set-up), injectors, fuel system (twin pumps, surge tank, all new lines both return and feed, twin feed rail, fuel reg etc). let's do the oil control. you'll need custom dry sump set-up with at least a 4 stage pump, boot mounted tank (with warmer) and all plumbed up properly. then full custom exhaust and intake piping, since we have come this far let's make it titanium as well. now you will need some nice wheels to go with your $80K set-up and some tyres to go on them. and don't forget the rest of your car is still standard and looking like crap. so lets throw in $10K on body work (conservative), and around $5K on suspension. then leave $6K for brakes so you can actually stop. now you are going to run your 900hp GTR (or whatever car it is today) at 12,000rpm on the street, so you had better be prepared for regular check-ups and inspections. may as well lease a workshop for a year, and hire your own private mechanic as there will be a years work to do building your car for one man no problem.

$20K USD will buy you fck all on that list.

    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.    
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.

    • I _think_ that one has a christmas tree or some other retainer spike into a hole in that panel under it. Come in under it with thin scredrivers and just pry it gently up. If you rip the ears off the retainer pin....so what? Just stick it back down after with a bit of race tape and carry on with life.
