Well Wivenhoe got about 44mm at the actual damn, dont know exactly how much in the surrouding catchment areas, its a good start.

In regards to tanks, I think the average brisbane resident uses about 400-500L per day, seems a lot of people are getting 3000L tanks... Do the maths on that one. Then you cant harvest all of the water on your roof if your retro fitting. Just the fall of the gutters etc. Im not saying tanks are a bad thing, I just think some people are getting them, going nuts with their water then wondering why their tank is empty.

ian, daveo is closer...

unless your one of those bum types that dont shower etc...

in no way shape or form and i a water saving hippy. but facts are facts.

and i do what i can (ie installed water saving shower head etc)

on a side note. woo hoo its sunny as, = golf is a go ahead. :)

bloody still raining here.....

It came fairly heavy at home, enough to overflow the gutters. As for water usage, maybe 100ltrs a day for me now that Im using the rinse washing machine water for the garden, no its not illegal anymore they had a change of policy, aslong as you are aware that nappy and such water is hazardous and not use it.

so where does the rest of the water that falls on my roof go Dave? :)

Well if you live in the suburbs as most of us do, and your house wasnt designed to have tanks retro fitted then your gutters would fall in all different directions to their nearest down pipe. Now when you come to install a tank you are either going to have lots of little tanks all over your yard at each down pipe, pull down all of your guttering and re-install it with correct falls to your tanks location. Or just leave it be and position your tank in the area where it will collect the most amount of rain fall. Its just not cost effective.

500 L per day??

I dunno about that man, I reckon I used about 40 - 50 yesterday if that...

500L would be the average brisbane household too dude, so that includes waterwasters, households of 10ppl etc.

But yeah 40-50L thats not a lot... Say a 5min shower with a 9L/min shower rose, theres 45L right there... A 7L/min shower rose is about as low as you can go while still being effective.

i see they announced level 5 water restrictions today... no longer allowed to wash your car apparently....

well F#$K that... either i wash my car, or they get a bill sent to them for a respray every 3 months :ninja:

Or you use tank or recycled water... Recycled water is at any carwash, as they can no longer use potable water.

But no offence man but dont be so selfish. Its at the point now businesses are going to start going under etc. If we dont save the water now level 6 wont be far off. And you think 5 is harsh...

Reason for windows and mirrors is the obvious safety issues of not being able to see out of your car.

i would never take my car to/use a carwash... purely for that fact - i won't wash my car with recycled water.

the amount of chemicals etc in it does more harm to the paint than good.

only way around it is to get a tank... and are the government going to pay for me to get a tank? not f**kin likely, so therefore, i will be using tap water.... call it selfish, call it whatever you want, but it is MY posession, i'm not going to let it depreciate MORE in value (more than it does currently anyway) due to having shit paint due to some knobend in parliament

    • Out of curiosity, how do you cover up the inspection hole? Surely it doesn't sit open like that, right? With grime and dirt coming in and oil going out?
    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
