i dont really have a choice to take the stock airbox off, i need a pod to clear the cooler pipes.

and i will cover it all i want because what the cops cant see cant defect you on.

Firstly, its the snorkel thats in the way, not the airbox, so you don't NEED a pod to clear your pipes, unless you have the most stupid custom pipe set up available...

Secondly, do you really believe they cant defect you for what they can't see? If they see a non factory airbox, then they know there's a pod under it...You're not fooling anyone...

I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that fitting the stock airbox and removing the snorkel, so as not to impede the cooler piping is the easiest option...but you'd have worked that out for yourself already right...

mate u own a r34? do u own a r34 with the same cooler? do u own a r34 with the same piping position? no.......i didnt think so.....so mate dont tell me what dosnt fit in my car.....cheeers :domokun:

Safe to say that any R32/R33/R34 with a hybrid style kit is essentially, exactly the same. In fact, traders sell the same kit to fit each of these 3 models. I'll assume you have a hybrid or hybrid style kit because if you had a Blitz/ARC/Apex cross flow kit, nothing would be in the way of any cooler piping :P

Going to put my 2c worth in :domokun:

Basically Andru was just asking for an airbox moulder and was not asking if it was legal. As he stated that his standard airbox did not fit, there is no doubt that he had looked into it before he bothered to post up about a custom airbox. Im sure if the box fix when he tried/researched, this thread wouldn't have even been made.

As he believed he had no other option, a custom airbox may have been the possible alternative for his problem.

R31Nismoid your comment about excessive was not needed as I believe it was just a direct attack for a minor comment he put in his first post. We are not hear to judge the actions of others, more so to help them if they have any questions. Regardless, perhaps TopStage may have left some kind of notice/answering message of their closure due to a holiday.

If people just stick to answering the original question (topstage open and/or where another box can be moulded) then this argument wouldnt be happening.

Although, Andru should show some respect to others when an opinion is given.

Cheers

You're missing the point, people are trying to educate him that covering a pod does not make it legal.

mmm guess i didnt make myself clear, i meant was when HE tried to fit it he was unsuccessful. He wasnt taking an attack at the people offering different methods. As expressed by you in the previous post and Cheez who showed an alternative.

It's the pointless attacks and the 10 people saying the same thing which had no relation to resolving his problem :domokun: 10 people saying its illegal will not make the airbox magically fit...

Edit;

This thread should have stopped at the first reply as it was the direct answer to the thread. Cheers to Nismo Racer :P

how does go f**k yourself sound?

you posted a question, and i answered it to the best of my ability.

ive noticed that you always ask questions, and when you get answers, you so defensive and get on your high horse.

if you dont want answers off here then f**k off. no point in being a smartass, coz in the end, no one will give you any help.

i wasnt having a go at you, just trying to help.

just thought it was wierd that u couldnt fit an airbox over the piping

wow man cry me a river....damnnn....chill out man......dont have to get all serious lol, listen mate all u have been doing is giving me answers to questions i havnt asked, i asked for a air box maker, not about wether its legal or not.....im sorry if ive offended you in any way JVP lol.....

you obviously cant read as well.

before cheez posted up his "modified" airbox, i asked you that question.

i can read mate, but i can also ignore :D

I'm getting the feeling some people might have a hostility against anDru just because he is young and has a R34?

thats kinda true but i also have made some funny threads and ppl cant seem to let go so they use me as a joke lol. i dont mind really as long as i get my questions answered, although sometimes i wonder why...... :P

well, he asked for help, and we gave him some answers.

then he becomes a smartass because i dont own an r34 gtt, therefore i know nothing about his car.

if he doesnt want help, he should post.

i could have ignored the topic, but i didnt, i chose to give him some help.

ill admit, i dont own an r34, and yes, i dont know much about them, but i do know, that the airbox can be modified in some sort of way.

and i know its illegal to have a pod and a FMIC

/end rant

fair comment there my friend, but seriously mate, u really didnt know what u were tlakin about, that dosnt mean ur a master at ur car and i would never tell u wat fits in ur car cuz i wouldnt know.

cheers newai :domokun:

No Jannisary/or whatever ur username is.

People are helping, and they are just getting it thrown back in thier faces.

Why would you get one defecting item, to "attempt" to clear another when infact its still illegal.

seems that nismoid u have a problem understanding, so ill give u an example. if i went into the supermarket and asked how much your coconuts were, would u tell me how to cook them? or maybe would u tell me that your peaches are much sweeter? or would u answer my question and tell me they are $1.95?

come on guys seriouslY? wats goin on here?

You're missing the point, people are trying to educate him that covering a pod does not make it legal.

LOL mate, i dont think your getting the point, the question is WHERE I CAN FIND A AIR BOX MAKER, not about how covering a pod is not legal

Rekin - refer to the many past threads of his, you'll see what i mean

anDru, is there any further point to this thread. You know its illegal, you know freddy is back in town... and all you can do is have cracks at people like all other threads you create and people tell you you might be incorrect/

I think anDru has the all time record for threads that have been locked.

Actually no, you said you wanted one to clear a defect. You cant actually clear a defect with one... which is what people are trying to inform you.

But as usual, your more interested in spamming posts and not reading

well im still trying to call freddy and still no peep, and i would like to compare prices or even see some other types of work.

I think anDru has the all time record for threads that have been locked.

to bad we dont have a catagoery for the awards thingo at SAU huh? :domokun:

lol, can we ever have a conversation or a debate that wont end in an arguement or dezz, arguing until he is right :domokun:

lol at Dezz comment :P

haha yeah i know, AnDru is just being a noob but he is still being paid out for his mistakes in the past. (whether he has learnt from his mistakes is another question all together)

He still being a noob and should just drop this discussion before it gets worse. You've got your answers now, let us post whores do our work now

Havent had an interesting discussion with Dezz for a while :D

You just ruined it all with that comment. GL HF. Might want a bigger shovel for that hole u digging

Okay. how about i do you a deal then.

I'll just ban you. Then we never have to see another muppet thread of yours again?

lol at your useless 2c post.

He wasn't being paid out for anything, some people read the first post and realised what he was attempting to do (clear a defect with a defectable mod) and tried to let him know that it wasn't the best option. He didn't want to listen, so some people flamed him.

anyone else also think this is better than tv?

andru has organised a roadworthy, a legit one, we've (me and andrew) have asked the guy if a custom airbox will be legit and he told us it would be, as long as its boxed up.

and whats with all the hostility? he can get it cleared with the custom air box, he doesnt want to modify the stock one, so let it go, it aint happening. the thread was about getting a custom one made up .

JVP, you told him to use a custom one, he said it wasnt happening, you told him again to sue the stock one, with a smart arse attidutde ("custom omg carbon fibre" were your exact words i believe), then you have a tantrum when he retaliates in kind.

R31 nismoid... off topic but didnt you get like 50% of the votes in that thread about who you hate most on SAU? not having a go at you, just couldnt find that thread and wanted an update

So he can get a roadworthy with his custom box, but please don't call it a legit one, as it's clearly not. :domokun:

    • I had 3 counts over the last couple of weeks once where i got stranded at a jdm paint yard booking in some work. 2nd time was moving the car into the drive way for the inspection and the 3rd was during the inspection for the co2 leak test. Fix: 1st, car off for a hour and half disconnected battery 10mins 4th try car started 2nd, 5th try started 3rd, countless time starting disconnected battery dude was under the hood listening to the starting sequence fuel pump ect.
    • This. As for your options - I suggest remote mounting the Nissan sensor further away on a length of steel tube. That tube to have a loop in it to handle vibration, etc etc. You will need to either put a tee and a bleed fitting near the sensor, or crack the fitting at the sensor to bleed it full of oil when you first set it up, otherwise you won't get the line filled. But this is a small problem. Just needs enough access to get it done.
    • The time is always correct. Only the date is wrong. It currently thinks it is January 19. Tomorrow it will say it is January 20. The date and time are ( should be ! ) retrieved from the GPS navigation system.
    • Buy yourself a set of easy outs. See if they will get a good bite in and unthread it.   Very very lucky the whole sender didn't let go while on the track and cost you a motor!
    • Well GTSBoy, prepare yourself further. I did a track day with 1/2 a day prep on Friday, inpromptu. The good news is that I got home, and didn't drive the car into a wall. Everything seemed mostly okay. The car was even a little faster than it was last time. I also got to get some good datalog data too. I also noticed a tiny bit of knock which was (luckily?) recorded. All I know is the knock sensors got recalibrated.... and are notorious for false knock. So I don't know if they are too sensitive, not sensitive enough... or some other third option. But I reduced timing anyway. It wasn't every pull through the session either. Think along the lines of -1 degree of timing for say, three instances while at the top of 4th in a 20 minute all-hot-lap session. Unfortunately at the end of session 2... I noticed a little oil. I borrowed some jack stands and a jack and took a look under there, but as is often the case, messing around with it kinda half cleaned it up, it was not conclusive where it was coming from. I decided to give it another go and see how it was. The amount of oil was maybe one/two small drops. I did another 20 minute session and car went well, and I was just starting to get into it and not be terrified of driving on track. I pulled over and checked in the pits and saw this: This is where I called it, packed up and went home as I live ~20 min from the track with a VERY VERY CLOSE EYE on Oil Pressure on the way home. The volume wasn't much but you never know. I checked it today when I had my own space/tools/time to find out what was going on, wanted to clean it up, run the car and see if any of the fittings from around the oil filter were causing it. I have like.. 5 fittings there, so I suspected one was (hopefully?) the culprit. It became immediately apparent as soon as I looked around more closely. 795d266d-a034-4b8c-89c9-d83860f5d00a.mp4       This is the R34 GTT oil sender connected via an adapter to an oil cooler block I have installed which runs AN lines to my cooler (and back). There's also an oil temp sensor on top.  Just after that video, I attempted to unthread the sensor to see if it's loose/worn and it disintegrated in my hand. So yes. I am glad I noticed that oil because it would appear that complete and utter catastrophic engine failure was about 1 second of engine runtime away. I did try to drill the fitting out, and only succeeded in drilling the middle hole much larger and now there's a... smooth hole in there with what looks like a damn sleeve still incredibly tight in there. Not really sure how to proceed from here. My options: 1) Find someone who can remove the stuck fitting, and use a steel adapter so it won't fatigue? (Female BSPT for the R34 sender to 1/8NPT male - HARD to find). IF it isn't possible to remove - Buy a new block ($320) and have someone tap a new 1/8NPT in the top of it ($????) and hope the steel adapter works better. 2) Buy a new block and give up on the OEM pressure sender for the dash entirely, and use the supplied 1/8 NPT for the oil temp sender. Having the oil pressure read 0 in the dash with the warning lamp will give me a lot of anxiety driving around. I do have the actual GM sensor/sender working, but it needs OBD2 as a gauge. If I'm datalogging I don't actually have a readout of what the gauge is currently displaying. 3) Other? Find a new location for the OEM sender? Though I don't know of anywhere that will work. I also don't know if a steel adapter is actually functionally smart here. It's clearly leveraged itself through vibration of the motor and snapped in half. This doesn't seem like a setup a smart person would replicate given the weight of the OEM sender. Still pretty happy being lucky for once and seeing this at the absolute last moment before bye bye motor in a big way, even if an adapter is apparently 6 weeks+ delivery and I have no way to free the current stuck/potentially destroyed threads in the current oil block.
