Evo...it is newer end of story...I am fecking sick of fixing boring things on my car

Stock for stock the Evo should cut a faster lap time as well and it should keep that up till the mods get serious

rally car versus mountain climber

what do we have more of around brisbane?

problem solved.

who said the gtr was a mountain climber? the evo would absolutely smash a gtr on the mountains

I thought that was an odd statement too!

Indeed I am!

If I had my time over I would have bought an EVO over the GTR. . . . . GTRs cost way too much to make them reliable at the track, EVOs are a much better package out of the box. But if you have a money tree by all means go the GTR.

i gotta say gtr, there's just sentimental value with a gtr, they sound amazing and i'm sure they are an awesome car when they run

but i agree with the reliability thing. speaking with mark (giant) today at 1r, he said he wouldnt run his car for more than 10 laps at a time caus it'd jsut blow, and thats one sorted gtr! too much money but the enjoyment is (would lol) be well worth it

i rather like his Evo better been through a few cars together .34 is more of a older car .. doesnt have the zippy conering and every day driveablity or the cop attention .. GTR well weather GTR or GT-T they all get same amount of attention.. good and bad.. personally id buy a GTR if i had alot of money to throw around.. EVO simple mods and its a early 12 sec car wip gtrs day in day out .. more practical , lesser attention seeking .. cheaper to run and maintain , and the work you do you know yourself how good the mivec series 4g63's are !.. you already had a low 12 sec gtr didnt do anything apart from piss fart and break ! .. they arent the best cars to throw money on (bang for buck) stock ones last longer ! keep the evo .. do the APC evo stage 2,3 run low 12s and keep happy !.. buy the GTR since you live with me i will drive it when you dont :)

for looks i'd say gtr, and personalyl i'd say gtr for myself (cause i'm a hoon), but i know i would break it pretty fast. but at the end of the day i would probably say evo. espeially if you owned it from new. with a gtr you can't be sure of how it has been treated, how it was run in, etc.

for running costs the evo would hose the gtr. only 4 cylinder rego, cheaper insurance cause it was a manufacturer imported car, cheaper on fuel.

i'm gonna go against the popular choice and say keep the evo. If you didnt own either i would buy the r34 gtr but since you already own the evo i say keep it. But thats just me, i get emotionally attached to my car

there are millions of times when i wanted to sell mine......

but i can not sell it..the enjoyment i get out of driving it is just unbelievable...never had the same feeling on any other cars i have owned...

having said that though, i have not owned an evo, so i dont know how well it drives...

id say keep the one you feel better driving....

better yet, have them both

I like the look of the GTR better than the Evo, even if the evo is a better car it is ugly, and I cant drive an ugly car.

Oh and water restrictions? Sucks to be you! I leave my sprinkler on top of my roof on all day while I am not there to cool it down for when I get home and turn on the aircon, sometimes leave my sprinkler on for days, pffft no water restrictions up here

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
