yeah, not needed for this, but as ports says it's a good idea anyway as there are no marshalls at these days which means if your car catches on fire all you'll be able to do is stand there and watch it burn.

i reccomend the BFI 1kg one. if puts out 4 times as much "stuff" as the other 1 kilo ones I've seen and owned.

so johnny, are you going to take off your slippers and come out? If I can drag my battle scared GTR out, surely you can wheel out the love boat for a play?

I was talking to Jason this morning and he reckons you are a bit scared of his GTR, but you should come out anyway just so he can show you the lines etc.

That is gold the slippers and the cardigan. GTR Jason is on the phone giving me a rev as we speak. You guys are sort of going about it the wrong way though. Try angle that Zeds are boats and drivers can't drive and they just look good.

i was going to try the all show no go line, but for that to work your car would have to be good looking...

but I guess at least if you come out I wont be the slowest guy on the track.

like I always say, if you can't be the part, look the part. and I certainly look the part...

I am 90% sure that I will be there tomorrow.

For those going, come and say Hi, even though I don’t drive a Skyline. It will be my first time on this track, so would be keen to pick up some tips and suggested lines.

I just pushed all my meetings and have taken Anual Leave see you all there.

Forecast for Wednesday

Partly cloudy. Chance afternoon shower. Northeast winds. Local early fogs.

City: Min: 15 Max: 23

West: Min: 11 Max: 24

Perfect temp, with a possible drift arvo if it rains

Dam - sounds like a good day - wish I could make it

So tempting but simply too hard and can not go. Got way too much on with getting new shop ready and dyno room for this Sat SAU dyno day. Would love to come out and chop GTR Jason again, well at least give it a good go. Also preping car for Circuit Battle next week at Wakey. Sounds like a great bunch of candidates going and perfect weather and conditions too. Ports and maybe Wizard my Zed buddies I think are going and give these Skyline boys a run.

see you there.

wiz

yeah top day. paul was down to 1.22 or there abouts and I was a second or two off that. I used the video camera for my times, will have to check it out later.

yeah it was nice to rub shoulders with glen seton and he even signed my seat. happy days.

Top day it was good to streatch the legs of the GTR, and do it without loss of licence. Big day with respect to numbers, it was the fullest I have ever seen OP, still good value for $120!

See you all next time.

Apollo,

I will post up the insurance name once my friend gets back to me.

Thanks

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
