hey guys sorry for butting in but i have a pod but no heat shield. how much power would i be losing without a heat shield and where can i buy one from?

ebay has them but can u trust them at all and is there a special one i need to buy for my application?

look around, they're everywhere...

and you wont be losing much... just might be a bit sluggish after a long burn due to heat...

Based on tests, Apexi dual funnel air filter gives you the most:

- Power

- Best filteration

- Most air intake

who's tests? and can i see them?

I have a Apexi pod with a UAS alloy pod enclosure which is also lined with thermo mat.One day i was doin some work on the car and forgot to put the lid on the pod enclosure. Was driving around and noticed it was really sluggish onto boost.Couldnt put my finger on it.Drove the car for two days still the same.Popped the bonnet and saw it wasnt on there, put back on response returned.

That was my experience with it.

yeh, thanks for the response guys, i am going to get an enclosure for my pod now, i have a hks pod, will look on ebay is there anything i should look out for or that i need? i have a front mount so the air gets through through the old intercooler piping. i do notice after a bi of a drive it gets a bit more slluggish, hopefully thi can fix my problem.

just to clear things up.

stock intake pipe to turbo and stock airbox = bad news once your running well over 230rwkw...try it and find out for yourself.

rubber intake pipe just sucks in and blocks off.

This happens why? air restriction. GTR box has a second intake from the wheel arch to help fix this...GTST doesn't.
