Sorry, cant beat their deal, but since im the one who decides what goes on special I can try to stick some more automotive kits in there for everyones benefit :D

http://www.altronics.com.au/cat.asp?cat=11...rp=430&id=K4347

Thats the AF meter, works quite well, alot better than the old one which was just a bar graph that went nuts all the time. This one actually gives you a readout.

The Voltmeter, Ammeter, Thermometer, Turbo Timer and Battery Protector ARE however on special :D

Ive been trying to get work to remake the kits into a guage style thing, something thats mountable into a round hole, but they seem to think customers wont think its worth the extra cost.

Yeah Jaycar has better audio gear. Altronics retail is a small part of the overall operation tho, its mostly wholesale. Jaycar dont do professional public address systems, we do.

We dont supply much to Jaycar, they source all of their own stuff. Only time they buy off us is when they run out of stock of a common part that we also stock. Their catalogue is alot bigger, but then again Altronics doesnt stock heaps of tacky stuff nobody wants.

We pride ourselves on nerdy retail staff. Luckily i work upstairs and as such am not counted as a nerd :D

hmm almost sparked up a price war

umm yeah you know me zanda, eloquence is the key to business and a few favours here and there (**taps nose**)

nah seriously the deals get good when we decide to group buy stuff

like say for example SOUND DEADening LOL

they have that "brown bread" deadener which is pretty good and their amps are really worth the money no BOSS style crapola here

so yeah anyways at the moment they have these woofers 6" ones with kevlar cones you might have heard about. they have about a 1cm if that part where the glue has come away and the cone is separated from the surround. they even sell you the glue to repair it and they are like $20 for these speakers

now i dunno about you guys but I wanna grab a bunch and build a bit of a home speaker setup for the ol PC

or you can use them for ditching at the geeks at Jaycar/Alotronics (those that work downstairs)

but yeah anyways email me if you need prices on shite and I will check

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
