i think around 70kw, but its strength would be the fuel economy

they also featured in some cedrics and glorias in japan. RD28 from memory came in Patrols. Always wanted to know if the block was the same, just with a longer stroke, or different because of it being Diesel.

Also because you are the gospel, what do the following Nissan engine codes stand for *snip*

None of those other engine designations are under dispute buddy, so go find out for yourself in your own time...

I still say, RB = Race Bred....

Well, at least these people can swear on it.... :w00t:

http://www.racebread.com/

Must I say more?? :-)

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...29235350AAc2p8n

Alright go ask the same question (in Japanese) over at http://www.gtroc.com/ and see what answer you get... I know I'm going to believe what a Japanese says about their own engines over what some cornbread fanboy on Yahoo Answers says

Whats with rebelling against correct knowledge and haging on to wrong information anyway? You know what it really means now, but you still say you'll believe the wrong thing? Thats totally absurd.

Just to lay to rest once and for all the 'Race Bred' rumour still going around after, what, 8 or 9 years?

and how does that lay it to rest ?

anybody can write up info on wikipedia so just coz its there does not mean its fact

for all we know RB could stand for Rice Burner

HAS ANYBODY EVER ASKED NISSAN for an answer ?

and how does that lay it to rest ?

Because Japanese don't understand the meaning of 'Race bred' in it's English context as used in way it has on the www.racebred.com website, and they'd never use such a phrase for what is supposed to be a simple alphanumeric designation for an engine. The do however understand 'Response' and 'Balance', these two words are used in everyday Japanese language, they've been used heavily since the US occupation after WW2. Anyone thats lived in Japan or who speaks fluent Japanese would know this. Anyone who has just a passing fancy in Nissans or Japan/Japanese cars wouldn't. (ie: the person on Yahoo Answers)

More eg:

ECCS = Electronic-Concentrated-Engine-Control-System

ATTESA E-TS = Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All Electronic - Torque Split

HICAS = High Capacity Actively Controlled Suspension

I can't understand the urge some of you have to resist the meaning the Japanese are using, and sticking to what some random Aussie or whatever said. Where you at all disappointed when you Mum told you Santa wasn't actually real? Seems almost like the same situation...

gazza750: to answer your question, I'll send an email to Nissan but don't hold your breath on a forthcoming answer.

ok ok fellas... this battle has raged on for long enough... RB IMO stands for "Racy Bitch" there you go... ha ha ha... now let's drop it... LMAO

NO, YOU ARE WRONG! RB = Response Balance! End of discussion!

Go cry to mama now...

OK, scientifically, technically etc... RB stands for whatever... as far as we're concerned, it can even stand for Rotten Bananas... ha ha ha... but, hey, just like Honda drivers like saying "VTEC YO!" all the time when John Tran in TF&F never even said that... RB = Race Bred... sounds mad... so let's just put it to rest... LMAO... And yes, when I found out that Santa was just some fat dude dressed up trying to be generous... yes, I was in tears... LOL

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
    • Bloody apprentices! 🙄
    • Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that🤣 So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough🙄
