So I've become a tightarse lately with my impending 7 week european adventure. With this in mind and the fact that I like to give the bitch the best loads of fluids I can I was wondering where people have found the cheapest Motul (or ELF)(the good shiz) and Redline oils (preferably in the same shop, as I'm also lazy).

Anyways, please share

Just a thought, can much be saved if you do a massive group buy on oil? The only problem I can see is not everyone uses the same oil.

Or maybe buy a massive drum of oil and sell it off to fellow sauers.

I guess its not an option if your tightarsing at the moment.

Do this. Drain the oil, filter it half a dozen times, put it back in. just kidding. sorry I can't say anything useful.

Yea.. it's never when my car needs fresh blood though...

I'll need to stock up when I stumble upon it

:teehee: @ d00dz

yep bingo

when you see a good sale such as 20% off just stock up on the essentials. you know you're going to need to use it eventually, so it's not exactly going to go to waste. I guess it just comes down to the cash flow available at the time.

By the time you factor in the inconvenience of someone buying it and everyone having to drive there to collect their oil you would be cheaper off just buying the normal retail price at your local auto store.

By a 20L drum if you can find them, that's about the cheapest way of doing it.

Motul 8100 5w40 ->$52

ELF Excellium fully synth ->$45

No i'm not a trader advertising lol.

You'll be suprised the prices you can get if you let your local autobarn owner know your intention. I.e. I'm interested in buying oil. Next time you put your order in, i'm willing to buy a box (3bottles)if you're willing to give me a good price :P

Edit: forgot to say - that's for 5L not 1

I use the 5W40 Motul 8100

if it's 300V Chrono, I'm in..

is it $100 for the 4L can? Don't think they come in 5L, but I could be wrong, and if they do, then score!!

I can check out prices on that too if you like??? Il send dad an email and hopefully get some prices for you tomoz

Whenever I order .. I get 20L for me & 20L for dad . I leave the drum @ TAFE and just get dad to refill my 5L bottle evertime I do a change....

    • Thanks mate, couldn't find in VIC, ended up ordering one from NSW, getting rwc to get new plates and registration done.
    • Before all the EFR fan boys come in, have a look at: https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing-and-performance/performance-catalog/turbo/g-series-ii-g30-825-58mm/ It also comes in a T4 1.06 divided housing. I would dare say if you want response & also decent power, this thing would chop.   AND apologies, just re-read your post, you've already bought the turbo... whatever you do, make sure you stick with divided housing and proper twin scroll manifold.
    • People have got to stop doing that. ShatGPT is not a search engine. It is a hallucination factory.   I also would recommend the 1.05. The .83 will "work" for you , in that it will be more responsive, but I think you'll find that it won't be anywhere near as good running it out to 8000rpm as the big housing will be.
    • Decided for the first time ever I would tow my car TO the track day on the same working theory as bringing tools and spares "if I have it I wont need it, but if I leave it behind i will 100% need it" all setup and ready to go out and try these A050 for the first time First session showed I needed to stiffen up the dampers a touch but still managed a few 1:21's without much effort. things were looking good. Came in a dropped the tyres down  to 26/28 as they had gotten to 35/33C from 22C cold The first lap of session two I managed to drop into 1:20's. Then in the second lap into the second session. Coming into T3 and I suddenly lost brake pedal followed by some huge rear end vibrations and scraping sounds. Got it back into the pits after session ended and found this. in the attached video, all of the wobble is in the hub its self, wheel is mint, and bearing feels tight. lKXLqpd - Imgur.mp4   Deciding it was a bent spindle I tried to find bearing/hub assembly locally but was unsuccessful so it was loaded back onto the trailer i luckily brought it on to drag it back home
