I've been a diehard Rossi fan from the time he got into 125's,but I'm stoked to see Case' + Chris V. going great! Nikki Hayden is a good guy(got time to talk with him at P.Is. a couple of years ago),but he's at best a top 3'er this season. I'd really like to see Col' E. get a win:the guy is super cool-plenty of time for a chat and a beer! He must feel a bit jipped being in the same garage as Vale'; hard act to follow! Troy Bayliss:gives older guys like me inspiration to go fast(also Frankie C. for all those years in the Supers). Then there's the man who rides only to win:Mick Doohan. WOW: what an animal on the bike. Rossi is a more gifted rider, and only slightly less hungry, but MD will always be the most driven rider,in my eyes anyway.

Much frown time for Max Biaggi(not that he's anywhere to be seen lately...). What a w**ker.Personal experience with 'Mr Black Flag' will see me never supporting him. KR Jnr give me the pips when he was handed the World Championship and carried on like a princess for a few years-looks like humble pie is being eaten in his motorhome as of late.

Results - Mugello

Stoner 4th

Vermeulen 8th

Didnt stay up for it, i couldnt deal with big briother anymore... looked like a bit of an uneventful one anyway

Well actually no it was a pretty good race once The Doctor gave em all a head start. He had one of the slowest bikes in a straight line (301 KPH to Stoner @ 315KPH) but was absolutely blinding in the twisty bits. The race was on Fox also (thank god). I just love to watch that lad ride!

cheers

well race starts in about an hour on free to air and should be good.

Rossi got pole but stonner certainly has race pace judging by the practise times. Plus he's never been a big fan of qualifier tyres.

Should be an awesome race as per usual.

im a bit late as i was away on holidays.. but what a farkin race, one of the best i have seen. Even better to see Stoner being able to match it with Rossi, what an awesome year this shapes to be! nice!

Being as patriotic as the most Australians, it was certainly great to see Casey get up to win again however just to temper it all with a bit of reality, the Ducatti is head and cam covers above all other bikes as far as horsepower goes and the straight line speeds certainly attest to that. On the 2nd last lap (I think) Rossi led the bunch onto the main straight by about 30 - 50 metres, Stoner just blew past him about half way down the straight and Pedrosa nearly did likewise before turn 1. Whilst the Yamaha and Rossi's undeniable talent certainly hang in well through the twisty bits, I wonder what the result would be if the bikes were swapped. I think MotoGP would be come a race for second place as Rossi would just dissappear into the distance pretty much like he used to do on the Honda. The Doctor is one class act!

Cheers

i'm with muz, rossi on a Ducati would be game over.

Stoner did a great job but on the twisty bits Rossi had to go hot into the corners which effectively overcommitted himself almost every time. Stoner to his credit kept his cool (sign of maturity methinks) and was immediately looking to squeeze up the inside.

fantastic race.

Agree entirely! .... This is what motor racing is all about. And if your lucky enough to catch any TT racing on Fox then you will really see bike racing at it's absolute best. Ahhhh narrow country lanes, no run offs, and mono's over every crest!

cochones as big as Elephants!

cheers

The last round wasn't about outright horsepower. The honda's were about 7 kmph slower down the straight (a very short straight) than the ducati. Stoner just outclassed rossi hands down. Rossi even said after the race that casey is riding like a god. The ducati was holding it's own in the corners no problem whatsoever.

Should be an awesome race. The top nine qualifiers are within a second of each other.

yeah casey has come a long way from the crash happy kid he was a few years back. he is fast. seems he has a good bike and tyre combo too which doesn't hurt. could be on for a world championship this year. :(

MotoGP has to be by far the most entertaining motorsport to watch on T.V. I love Sunday nights on Foxtel :(

You just don't get the overtaking or the changes in speeds midrace between competitors as what you get with these bikes.

    • Yes I can see how that would put you off HFM, especially with the price of good quality brake fluid. From what I understand it as you say the BM50 is the standard BMC for a R32 GTR, I must admit I would like to go far a Genuine Nissan BM57, but lack of cash prevents that at present. With the price being so close between the genuine BM50 and BM57 a BM57 New it seems a better choice as you gain that 1/16 bore size with the BM57, I would be interested in how much difference you feel with the BM57 fitted. I am going to take SteveL's advice in the short term and see how much actually comes out of that proportioning valve vent and save up for the Genuine Nissan part. Thanks for clarifying the HFM failure
    • Thanks mate. I just got the post inspection 1/2 done from state roads when the starter motor packed up, either that or the car alarm system is having trouble.  OEM part number 23300-AA112.
    • Hi, I though I was coming to an end in finding a replacement starter motor for a rb25de neo. I came across a starter motor from Taarks and a message below stating: Direct fit. 11 Tooth count. All below part numbers have been superseded to 11 teeth. Can some body shed some light on going from 8 teeth to 11 teeth apart from 36-month / 25,000 km warranty for passenger vehicles to 12 Month Warranty. Compatible with the following Nissan part numbers: 23300-20P00 23300-20P01 23300-20P05 23300-20P10 23300-20P11 23300-AA111 23300-AA112 23300-AA300 23300-08U10 23300-08U11 23300-08U15
    • Low battery? Maybe check capacity? I know first-hand, on BMWs if your battery drops below 80% capacity, it starts causing strange issues.
    • 8.5 +37 = should fit rear, but I think it'll hit on front. What you want is low 30s/high 20's front, mid 30's rear. That 17" screenshot you posted looks good, I'd run it on my R32 (but that's long dead now). For tyre sizes, my rule of thumb is: 8': 235, 9": 255. But that's just my opinion. Nismo sizes: 18x8.5+35/18x9.5+38 is a good starting point.
