the stag is up for a service and im looking at gathering all the parts together

i cant find a service thread anywhere so this might be a good start.

looking for an auto trans filter kit for my stagea. or even if we know what type of trans it is.that would help.

its a 1999 stagea rs4. triptronic auto.

BIG thanks

-matt

p.s. if there is a link to all service info that would be great. stuff like plugs. filters. brakes. etc.

I believe the Stagea's auto is an RE401A just like most Nissans (and quite a few other Japanese cars), the only real difference being the transfer box on the end to take drive to the front wheels.

the s2 auto tiptronic box is different to the s1 auto box, but is the same as the R34 skyline auto tiptronic box - with the exception of the transfer case as mentioned above...

For what its worth, note the transmission oil cooler is also larger on the s2 than s1. :)

    • I've replaced the front brakes of my NA to 324 brembos and 350z calipers: i'm going for 225/40-18 up front and 245/35-18 in the back. I have Rays 7.5*19 ET35(225/35) in the front with 5mm spacers otherwise the calipers "lock up/ won't rotate". When i use the calculator i come up with 8*18 ET30 for 225/40...... but not sure i get problems with the calipers. Anyone riding around with 18 inch. that can confirm "that it'll fit"? In the back it's 7.5*9 ET30 (245/30) with the 5mm spacers, but there is no problem with the standard small brakes, so i want to take 8.5*18 ET25 (245/35).
    • Lol.. but then.. always come back to a JDM..
    • Glad to hear. If possible, get your tuner to check air's to make sure everything is still where it should be.
    • The problem with FB/Insta/Reddit etc comments relating to cars is simple. You get to ask a question once, and get one round of replies. For things that can actually be answered in a few lines of text, once, it's fine. After 6 hours, your original question is lost to the void. There are no follow ups, additional questions, anything. No project car is ever such a simple list of questions to ask. You need discussion.
    • Welcome.  Here's what I have noticed about forum vs FB..... FB; seems to be wallet racing, and the same few questions asked over and over. There *may* be some groups that are closer knit, but most have changed for the worse. SAU; unfortunately, no longer in its glory days. But....genuine people with similar interests. Not all about how much you spent and saying you dont have enough power. Sooooooo much knowledge available. Have personally seen people post up about literally topics I made myself, asking on FB like no one has done it before. Most has been done, and most of that is here.   If you ever feel like just general chatting theres the wasteland.  Other interests are also generally covered in other areas of the forum. Hope you enjoy hanging around. We would love to have you.   P.s. nice 32 😀
