It seems the more chat there is the more fighting there is.

I'm not sure if you all realise this or not but behind the scenes at SAU there are discussions about getting rid of every single whore thread. If the online social side of things is not pleasant then it may just disappear altogether.

Please think before you post.

I clearly warned all of those who frequent the whore threads that if there was any repeat of the bitching, that the whore threads would go, permanently.

I was not kidding, and it seems too many people simply don't listen.

Unfortunately, actions speak louder than words so the whore threads of NSW will now be closed indefinately.

Those of you whose actions have brought this on know who you are, so perhaps you can explain to the other more mature members why the chat threads are no longer.

I'd like to know why people from places like the central coast, newcastle, south coast, hornsby etc are being punished for sh!t that goes on in other threads??? Nothing to do with us.....

Hardly fair....

Yeap thats true! I apologise for my childishness! Some things just bring out the worst and stupid in me!! I have already decided that my last comments will be just that.. the last! I am here to enjoy my car and meet new enthusiasts and to generally have a good time! I don't want all the crap going around to affect any of this.

that is all

I think that the argument that came around thismorning was resolved by the people that started it and everyone shouldnt be punished for it. The fact that it was resolved shows alot more matturity than what has been around as of late.

just my 2 cents.

this all very well to close them down, but i know from experience its mainly happening in the whoretown thread not all the whore thread like central coast and such. but i think this will settle it down.

The bottom line is the whore threads have caused problems from the start, are a waste of space, and are nothing but pages of worthless crap.

I agree with Sam and others, it is unfair, especially on those who haven't acted like complete tools, but everyone was warned and those involved were told that if they didn't cut it out once and for all, the threads would go, thereby affecting many others.

Personally, I think that while its all good and well to want to talk to your friends all day, there are more appropriate chat mediums around to facilitate this, a forum isn't one of them.

Lifes not fair Tinks =(

Hopefully this will be a temporary thing and soon we can get our forums back, but if its permanent its kind of removing the reason I joined SAU, to chat with and organise meets with others from Newcastle (and the surrounding areas).

i to agree with this to, and i think that having this privilage removed will wake everybody up, and that those who have lead to this will now hopefully have more respect for the forum and its users

I agree, there are far more appropriate methods of talking to friends all day long, but in my experience (which is mainly the Newcastle thread) the members using it were more using it as a bulletin board rather than pages and pages of random chatter.

Will there be any system implemented to replace these threads? Perhaps a "one post per time limit" sort of deal (i know it would be a pain in the butt to implement, but it would be nice to get the community feel back).

And I do understand why they were banned and can accept and support the decision to stop them for the reasons the admins have mentioned above, but as Tinks said...what about the rest of us who werent abusing the service or others?

i go out to get a haircut and all shit breaks loose?

come on guys... i wasn't even gone that long >_<

on a more mature note: im not so sure losing the area threads is a great idea... i met pretty much everyone through those threads, heard about pretty much every event i went to, and was almost literally my doorway to SAU...

i introduced myself and was welcome with open arms... it made me stay, and now i am a paying member, have helped at several events and am always putting my name down to help on more events...

what about other new people? where do they go? do we have a new member make a thread about themselves every time?

anyway, moderating a forum is hard enough (I should know)... moderating this one would be impossible... doing a great job guys, making the tough calls :)

I second that.. Being on the SAU forums as a big time reader, not much of a poster, starting hanging around the central cost thread and got welcomed by some really friendly people and also starting chatting with members :)

Maybe I didnt communicate what I meant very well, but the above two posters have done so.

Removing the local threads removes the "community" feel of the boards.

Will there be any thought into providing a similar feature on SAU itself, or should we just kiss it goodbye?

As a side note: If you're from Newcastle - hit me with a PM so i can add you to friends

Long time listener, first time caller.. Lol..

That is true, and I don't disagree. I just wanted to add though that most chat/IM programs are blocked at workplaces - even SAU is blocked at my school (along with most URLs with the word /forum/ in it). Therefore hence the ease of accessing a webpage (forum) and communicating on all that.

Im just gonna leave it at that. Just wanted to add my 2c

    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
    • Staring on a stand is no issue. You just have to wire everything up, give it fuel and cross your fingers that the stand is robust enough. Arranging the inlet plumbing is often the hardest part, without any surrounding structure to hand some of it from. No need for coolant if you only want to run it for <1 minute. As to the gearbox - I think the little Aisin box is a bit stronger than the other small Nissan boxes that went behind SRs, but I wouldn't be too keen to test its limits with the torque of a boosted 25. I don't know if you can retain the box and the tailshaft. The box won't connect to the RB without an adapter of some sort, which is either a plate that will push the engine forward (which is not good for fitting it into the bay's available space) or push the box back, which messes with the box position and tailshaft length - OR - cut and shut work on the bellhousing, which is a long way from "least modification". I'd be buying a new 370Z 6 speed or similar, doing what has to be done to that to make it fit RB (ie, cut and shut bellhousing) and the requisite tailshaft custom/mods.
    • Hi Everyone I am from West Pennant Hills in NSW. Been too busy until recently to attend to my RB25DET Series 2 engine until recently. I am planning to stick it into the S15 shell at this stage, unless a nice SR20DET turns up... For now, i am going to try and get the RB25 running and working well then decide what gearbox to use. My preference is to retain the SR20DET  6 speed gearbox and tail shaft to retain as much and least modifications as i can avoid. I am an old guy and won't be doing any heavy drifting so i don't need a bullet proof gearbox Does anyone have experience with starting the RB on a stand? I got everything setup as much as I can with the info i can find... endless searching and videos on Youtube I would be great to get some pointers Cheers Songo
    • Hey all, Recently have had my s1 r33 gtr serviced and noticed my coolant reservoir was topped up to the max line. Took the car out for 1 yesterday and noticed today the reservoir is completely empty.  Any ideas? Radiator is full
