Thats what i thought but im sure it said it was an R31 somewhere there.your correct tho it wud have to be a HR31 unless there playing funybuggers again lol.

great driver

was more opposite lock then driving straight :( and if that was the turbo nissan wouldn't it of been the HR31

oh and i found something else you guys might like :)

apparently from an SAU event!

steve, I remember that race like it was yesterday.....wouldn't you love to see the Falcodores chasing R34 GTR's around Bathurst!!!

I remember the Sierra Cosworths when they 1st came along which virtually spelt the death knock for the big cars (ie Falcodores & chanel 9's Camaro) but then Freddy Gibson's Godzilla came along shortly after that and literally ate the Cosworths!

Also, you know what would be a good idea stevo, if we could get hold of either the '91 or '92 Bathurst on DVD and maybe have a BYO BBQ & drinks one day.....anyone with a big screen keen to lend their house for a day.

Here's a little snippet to wet some appetittes:

thats a bloody good idea. nothing like putting meat to flame and watching falcodores get pwnt...

-D

yeah if anyone has a DVD copy of the 91 and 92 races, I would love to acquire a copy.

My house is available for some 8-ball, beer, bbq and 91/92 Bathurst - just got to pick an afternoon or evening when Port Power are playing at home - as the wife goes to the footy and we can have the house to ourselves :D

Love this clip - Brocky stalling on the start grid - gold. Check out the lead the Skylines and Cosworth have after just 2 laps!

Bathurst '92

You are a legend Andrew....lets make this happen cause Port play at home avery 2nd week and at least once a month on a Saturday.

I didn't know your missus was a keen Port fan......depending who they're playing on the day I might ditch you lot and go with her to the footy, ha, ha .... JK

It's not something I would normally advertise :D .... but she is from Taperoo - she can't help it! Haha if you actually went along Pete, you would nearly double their weekly attendances :D

OK, so I will have a look at the calendar and nail down a game/day/time this week and start a new post. Obviously this really only applies to guys off here that I know, as I don't want every Tom, Dick or Harry wandering through my house.

I know

quick get to know me so i can come too :D

guys if you can get a copy of a dvd of it theres lots of guys on here that will want it.

theres a thread about it called group a racing in the racing section where they all chatting about can anyone get their hands on it.

the only copy ive seen is the low quality youtube 16 part version of both 91 & 92 which during a slow few days of work i watched both entire races :D

R32 gets mad respect, best bit is to note people say they boo'd cause of how the second race ended but they boo'd just the same the first year it ran and you can't say there was anything dodgy bout that spanking they gave em.

and yeah i was thinking some kind of car footage night would be awesome but then you gota go through the whole who do you trust in ya house knowing where you live considering all the skylines stolen as of late. any random houses we can crash :) ive got some home made dvds to show.....not porn u dirty bastards

best thing we used to do in an old club i was in was film the action from the cruise then do some replays. funniest of all was the comments made on film when they didnt realise the cam was rolling and then such embarrasing moments as 1 person saying how hot another dudes chick was and another guys sister and many other awkward moments

    • That's probably OK. That's a face to face compression joint between two surfaces with the clamping load provided by those bolts. So.... it's unlikely that the bolts will end up feeling that load in shear, unless the clamping surfaces are not large enough, bolts not got enough tension on them, etc etc to prevent the two faces from moving wrt each other. Which... I would hope the designers have considered, seeing as it's probably one of the most important things the upright has to do apart from resist collapsing in its own right. But yes, it would definitely be worth asking them what their safety factor on that part of the design was. I tend to think that the casting, being a casting, is not necessarily the strongest bit of material in the world. It's about an inch square, and when you think about the loads that are being put into it, you have to wonder what safety factor the Nissan boys (and every other OEM engineer who has designed all the millions of other uprights that look essentially the same) used to account for defective casting, aging, severe impacts on the wheel, etc etc.
    • Those bolts would be orders of magnitude stronger that cast aluminium though.  And its mainly clamping force, not shear they are dealing with?
    • Except all that twisting force that is breaking a cast piece, appears to be going through 4 bolts in the picture Johnny posted of the BryPar one...
    • The smart approach is to use the gearbox loom from the manual car. Makes it a lot easier - just plugs into the switches on the box and plugs into the main loom up near the fusebox. Then you only need to deal with bypassing the inhibit switch. The other approach requires you to use the wiring diagram to identify those wires by colour and location, perhaps even indulging in a little multimeter action to trace them end to end to make sure, and then.... you will have the answers you need. The R34 wiring diagram is available on-line (no, I do not have a link to it myself - I would have to do a search if I wasn't able to go to the copy I have at home).
    • Hi, i’m converted my r34 4dr auto to manual but need help with gearbox wiring. There are bunch of wires no idea which one for speedo drive, neutral, reverse can anyone help me. IMG_6860.mov
