Yeah I'm hoping to get down for the afternoon session at Collie on the Sat too. You staying down at Collie for the Sat night somewhere?

I have all your 06 Dutton W.A. vid's on my PC. Some nice driving there and it looks like you guys had a lot of fun.

What are you guys entering in this year?

Well if the dorito heroes are down Saturday I hope they have sufficient manners to clean the track before Sunday.

By the way Snowman it is Sandgroper, not grouper.

What is a DORITO heroe ???

When DriftWa hired collie for the 2 days it had to be a clean track or $600 fee was chargd , alot the DriftWa guys spent saturday night n sunday afternoon sweeping track to avoid the fee :(

i'm keen to come out and give the gtst a run on the track,

should have my ap brakes in along with the rest of my suspension bits.

may not be fast but im sure i will have fun :D

got anymore details? or just rock up on the day?

edit: ahg is awsome, i had a track day there few months ago, got to attack the long track too

Right - got some info for Barbagallo on Saturday. I'm getting a 1 day membership ($60) and then it's $55 for the day. So thats costing me $115 total to run. I think you can get a yearly membership as well but obviously that's not required for me. $115 is reasonable for a track day though. (well it is over here)

If you ask nicely, seeing how the year if half gone & the V8's done you may find that membership is not much different to the $115 for the remainder of the year. You get a free track day voucher with the membership. Not sure what the nomination fee is, however. Just a thought for any first time locals. Worth asking.

do you know what the cost is to renew your membership? as mine expired at the beginning of the year, do you think i will have to signup again?

Ill be crashing at the track sat night as im planning to hang around for tjhe sunday to watch some drift, and go for a trash if someone lends me a car for a bit of side-o action

Franz got a drive offer too good to pass up, read everything sponsored just drive the car, so we're not teamed up this yr, was also an issue of the 33 possdibly not being ready, which given he bailed on doing it with me this yr is happening due to me adding a stack more stuff in..

but im co piloting a group n prepared wrx rally car, so i should be at the pointy end

Nice one  It sounds like the pointy end this year in Dutton W.A. should be a lot more competative. I know Gazzard and Beaumont will be there this year and they'll be tough to beat but it will be fun to see how close we can all get since I know Jeff hasn't seen anything over in W.A. before. I'm really getting excitied and can't wait to get over there next weekend for a bit of a play. :) It's a shame Berry/Newman won't be there as you guys would love to see that GT-R in action. It is a weapon and a half.

So how do you sign up for this track day?

Just turn up at Barbagello race way?

So how do you sign up for this track day?

It is a practice day at Wanneroo. You need to be a member or to make other arrangements.

Just turn up at Barbagello race way?

:D

Ring them up & talk to them. They are nice people.

At minimum you need to do some preliminary safety inductions etc.

Collie is a better bet for those without paperwork or preparation. Although it will probably be pissing down & there will be drift people there. :( You get your car scrutineered in the morning & do as many laps as you can be bothered.

Hey Gav,

Was nice to meet you and was great to have a look at 2 new tracks. I thought both of them were quite fun and the EVO was quite a nice bit of kit to have a play in. Although it was pretty damp out at Collie and I did manage to spear it off backwards once :P Bloody twtichy bastard! Still in the few laps I did get at both places I managed a 1.05.7 at Barbagallo and a 52.4 at Collie which I understand to be ok.

Your car definitely has massive potential but I think if you were really keen to get into some track stuff - especially given the nature of tracks you have in W.A. you'd be wise to consider a smaller turbo kit. It's either that or move to Vic. ;) But with some smaller blowers and good tyres your car could be good for 1.03's around Barbagallo easy I reckon. It sure was a sweet bit of kit and nice to see.

Cheers

Snowy.

Sorry I didn't make it out to see either of you racing, but Mrs heading off east kinda put a stop to that.

Gav, Any improvement in the brakes ?

Chalk-and-cheese type of improvement, which is kinda what you would expect when comparing Pagid race pads with Bendix road pads.

Most suprising was how well the Federal rubber coped with the very wet track, although it could be expected that the deep groove pattern should help with the water dispersion away from the contact face.

Just read this thread.

At AHG i usually run on the Bridgestone RE55's. Last time i went out i was under prepared and out of time and had to run on the Federals 595RS's and i think they were fantastic!!! Ill be useing them everytime it looks to be wet.

    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
    • Was the car running before he touched the car?
