FCK YEAH!

shame It's priced a bit rich for my blood. though I would guess the overheads of running an event like this at bathurst would be huge!

God I wish I could afford that :)

Same!!! It would be the best 2 days ever

You would have to go the sprintBathurst option, which starts from $4,900. So it is alot of cash!

it's hard to justify. $5K could get me a lot of track days.

but then again, it is bathurst.

and I'd need a new set of tyres $2K, make sure the car is tip top. $1K. some spares $1K. travelling cost. $500. so we are talking near enough to a $10K weekend and that's providing I dont bin it coming out of the chase!

Pitty we cant co-drive and share costs :)

Theres the next best thing - speed weekend for the supersprint and then the hill climb around same time of year.

I'll be 100% in that

yes, but that supersprint and hill climb you speak of only use a small part of the circuit and you are going the wrong way. still good fun, but not quite in the same league.

a friend of mine is running in a race meet at bathurst and told me their entry cost is $400. so with the $4600 left over maybe I can build a crappy car, and get my NC licence and enter that!

Oh I know the BB,

But I mean you are still racing on the track which hardlky anyone else does, and for a shitload less!!

Id rather do the sprint and hill climb 40 odd times than spend the rest on the other race!

Oh, the hillclimb on the speed weekend is actually the correct way. Its mt straight and up that way

They have other hill climbs through the SS's

How come on the application it doesn't give me a choice of which cars they are providing me to drive.....

For $4k i'd rather hire Oran Park myself and piss all over the main straight all day.

One of the guys on the Zed forum posted this, puts a different slant on it.

"For that price it would be cheaper to fly to Germany and go around the Nürburgring. It costs 345 Euro to do 25 laps there and you could possibly hire a German sports car to do it in."

    • For fuelling the Haltechs have O2WB fuel controllers. Very useful for helping tuning VE and correcting for *small* mistakes. Of course if your injector/cam/trigger/sensor data is just wrong (or for a GTT which is not a GT) then you will get impossible reactions to things. I am sure you know this already but the reason people don't typically put haltechs (or any Aftermarket ECU) on GT's is because there's practically no real gains to be had - So this knowledge won't be commonplace.

    • Shouldn't need a "base map" for anything other than guidance to ignition tuning. You just need the engine capacity right, the injector size right, and something, almost anything, for a VE map. On an NA engine, fuelling is almost completely a function of load signal & rpm. It should run and drive with a completely flat fuel map. It will be too lean under load, but that's easily fixed. We used to tune all ECUs without any base map. There were no such things (until someone had tuned a near stock engine on one, and then they had a "base map".
    • What did you actually buy/how much did it cost? When I got mine in like.. 2017...? 2019? the aim was to run Torque for gauges via ODB2 and things like Track Addict/Laptimers/Dashcam/Reversecam/Spotify etc. Mine never broke, but I wonder if you've got the same needs (it sounds like it). Cause I liked the idea of being able to do anything with it. That said, yours also cost 3x the cost of what I spent so... food for thought.
