Hey guys,

Just wanted to send out a warning to the fellas like me in the South west side of sydney, where all the great suburbs are :| Bankstown, yagoona, belmore lakemba etc..

My mate was on his way home at about 4am on saturday and was pulled over by 8 men in two cars blocking his escape route they proceeded to exit the vehicles which they arrived in and asked my mate to leave his.. (he drives a commonwhore 2007 model v8 SS) when he refused... (he also had his s15 nicked a week after he bought it back in 2005) they proceeded to stab him repeatedly! Not once, but 7 (must have been lucky) times!!!

No stab wounds have been fatal thankfully and he escaped with some awesome scars and a shockly ugly new red interior, oh and his life :D

I just wanted to warn all the guys out this way that these guys are on the prowl for such high end vehicles and I would assume skylines are in the wanted list.

I was rather shocked when they wanted his commo but I suppose it is new and it is powerful, so i guess not many people have them.

Hope no one else is in this situation just keep and eye out and anything suspicious... floor it :(

yeah i knew a friend of a friend over here in perth that was held up at gun point for his R32 skyline

an that was in a good suburb well not the best but not one where guys walk round with guns

o just f***en great that what we really need around here if it happens to me i promise i will ram then and use my car as a battering ram and take them out if i can i rather take a few with me than get out of the car and have another tragic story like that. jealous pricks ,i hope his ok physically and mentally.

No gun = No car

If 8 guys block my escape route, I will ram them and their cars whilst dialling 000

I would like to see them get me as the car is running them over.

Did your mate get out of the car, why did he not ram his way out ?

Personally i wouldnt ram my car through another one .. I seriously wouldnt think of it ..

In a situation like that its either fight or flight.. yeah he fought.. ill get onto him about the cars i dont know if he took notice .. im sure he'll have some idea..

hes all good.. from his past hes not the sort of guy to give up, so seems something occoured for them to leave.. but im not sure i doubt he did anything illegal anyway if thats the question, pretty sure ill take off after i decided to attack a person too. mentally he'll be fine physcially lets hope so.

Its not the first time from memory, i.e the WRX who got held up at the bankstown station and he launched it and got shot in the sholder and the countless more.

And it always happens in western sydney .. ive been at gun point multipul times thankfully not for my car, and i'm not a fight guy lol especially with a gun - thankfully ive got a good ability to negotiate.

Unfortunately this is typical for these suburbs.. What confuses and annoys me is why almost all of these incidents are reported to be carried out by people of "Middle Eastern appearance". Why!? :(

because thats the way it is !!!! sometimes its the only way to understand, i am around some pretty bad things day in and out in my line of work, sometimes the only way to understand things is to say "because thats the way it is" plane and simple ,trying to understand just gets you no real answers . :D:)    :

yeah just pm it if you find out and get as much detail as you can off him. im from the area so as long as he gets a good description of the cars i might be able to figure out which bunch of gronks did it.

its bankstown. do you expect the trouble to be caused by aboroginals?

its just like saying why is all the trouble caused by asians in cabramatta.

same as cronulla and all the trouble caused by................................. oh wait.

North Shore... f**ken private school skips!

anyway, that is one f**ked up story :( i would dial 112 or whatever it is and put it on speaker...

then pray for my life cause i dont really want to die over a car...

mate you shouldnt be annoyed and confused due to people being of a certain backround, assholes are assholes no matter what their backround and every race/culture has assholes... simple

Depends on what area your in generally and the type of people will differ.

this whole car jacking thing is starting down here in Vic too ..... and yeah even though he was driving a 2007 commodore, it is still one of the more powerful cars on teh roads in Aus....thats why they tried to take it off him.

Thing is, apart from a couple of instances where i heard it happened during the evening, most happened early morning - i.e after 1am or so

i would have definietly had the foot planted....doors locked and smoking them up as a warning but i aint sticking around to see if they are willing to kill me for my car....panel damamge vs me damage....i love my car but there is a limit and i think getting stabbed 7 times falls into that category...

hope he is ok.....

Ooh ooh I know this one... umm... ahhh... whitey's!!!!!!!1

What do I win? hehe.

Yes arseholes are arseholes.

I had to report something to the cops the other day. 1st q: "were they young males?" yes. 2nd q: "were they are middle eastern appearance" well yes. Did they do anything (the cops)? No. So what's the point of asking what they look like? Maybe they would have come if I said they were whiteys.

Who I feel sorry for are all the decent and cool 'people of middle eastern decent', lebs, pakis, greeks, italians, spaniards, etc, etc cos they get picked on, hassled, marginalised or whatever just cos of how they look.

Maybe it seems to me that there are bunches of bad lebs out there because I'm white. Maybe if I was a leb I would feel the opposite. People's views are shaped by the windows they look out of.

Sydney sux. People suck. All except for you beautiful people of course. :w00t:

    • Actually everyone on the roads was really well behaved. The only person that did any minor tailgating was a local hoon in a Turbo Focus. Unfortunately we weren't going the same way so there was no grand initial D touge battle. Lots of people pulled over and let me through. The amount of "Hey man nice car, omg skyline, nice 34 man woo" was suprising. Like really suprising. Like almost annoying. My partner was obviously surprised, she'd never seen anyone in the real world point out the car/like the car/want to chat about the car before, so to have like 3 people per day mention it was notable, I could finally say SEE? SOMEONE THINKS THEY'RE COOL. Everyone was also pretty suprised about the weather. Every day was dry and about ~13-14C. Mount Wellington had a sign that said they close the gates at 9pm and I was heading up there at about ~7:30. It was VERY apparent that conditions were getting significantly worse by the minute on the way up and down. The road on the mountain was terrible though, it's no driving road. I have various suspension related questions now. Luckily it was only about 20 minutes from where we were staying to the top of the mountain as said Google maps. We only had the 2 nights in Hobart. We went to the Farm Gate Market though which was really good - And went down to the Hastings Thermal springs/caves down there during the day. I'd definitely be up for going back again, so luckily there's a few more sights yet to see. Didn't get to do the west coast/queenstown/cradle mountain so this was supposed to be a 'scouting' trip anyway of sorts if I were to one day do/take part in/organize a more car-focused trip. As for the boat, it wasn't bad. Well it was bad, but not in the way you're thinking. We did the night trip which leaves at 6:45 (though you have to be there ~2 hours earlier) and arrives the next morning at about 6am. There is nothing to do on the ship. If you plan accordingly and bring a book/tablet/show to watch/charger you can just chill out, take some Travacalm and just sleep through it. The food there is an extremely basic buffet that costs $32 a plate, or $14 for a $3 pizza. The way back we had a travel kettle and a few different types of cup noodles and made our own tea/coffee in the room. This was a far superior way to do it. At the very least book one of the rooms with beds. I guess as we were in the off season we didn't have room mates. You get an option for rooms with 4 beds (2x bunks) or a room with just the two bottom beds. There's also some option for a deluxe queen bed but it's much pricer. We've been on sleeper trains in Asia before so we figured this is similar (and it was)
    • You just gotta be really, really, really clear and decisive with what you want your end product to be. 99% of people who want this conversion aren't "I want to run a 295 front tyre!" so they don't really need the widebody. They just want the OEM body to look a little less dumpy, so bonnet, bar, skirts job done with some camber, stretch, slam. It's when you want that, but then decide to pivot later you get big problems. See also if you're willing to get an all in one fibreglass bar, and you're willing to accept fibreglass problems like cracking the entire item on a driveway, instead of just a piece attached to the bottom, etc etc etc. Decide this all before buyin'.
    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
