Hey Jeffworld, tried to reply to your PM but your inbox is full, let me know when there's space and I'll re send the PM.

alternatively, PM Justin911 as he'll be able to answer your question :)

installed this today, everything seemed fine, until i started the car and the needle jumped up to 33km/h at stand still.. not sure what the problem might be? any help?

should i take it apart again and re-adjust the needle?

or could it be my soldiering of the points at the back?

Cheers.

Installed mine today - Looks sweet

Thanks guys for organising this buy - very happy

(I found that it was easier to install the cluster into the car without the clear cover and install the needles whilst the ignition was on to get the correct placement - another hint, make sure you know how much fuel is in the car before you change them over, so you know where your needle is supposed to be pointing)

Now I just need LED's :laughing-smiley-014:

on 2nd though went for drive today i may be lucky and fuel is ok but as i have to redo my speed will be taking dash apart again and going to a dyno to set it up

i modified my tacho gauge so i can see my Slip light and 4WD fault light

Before original Tacho

After installing the Tacho and Dummy Boost gauge

you can now see my slip light and 4wd warning light

i drilled the my orriginal guage and used that as a template to drill through my new face :)

na no boost gauge cause is factory NA and still doesn't work because no mechanism there but looks the part I've got a after market boost gauge

i actually bought the car turbo and suspect the people who did the job used an engine out of a stagea due to mine being GTS4

if anyone has #6 soldered (mine did for some reason) you need to desolder her

um i would think not the instructions were pretty clear and even showed #6 bridged

in my opinion as per Amec's instructions is how the job should be done

BTW i had mine on the Dyno on Friday the recalibration is spot on so if #6 did need to be de-soldered then my speedo would of been way out

hehe i had issuing installing mine and i pm'd amec and he said to try de-soldering #6. Also dezz doesnt have #6 on his soldered to start off with. His a 98 model. mines a 96

i tested mine with my pfc speedo and a gps

Its wierd cause it seems to work with a few diff combinations... long as its working for everyone though :)

It wouldnt be way out btw, only out by like 5-10km below 100km if it was wrong.

Everyone should have received their kits by now, as I think the last kit was received today ;)

Anyone that hasn't left feedback as yet, it'd be appreciated if you could do so, and I'll return the favor

As far as trader rating feedback goes, it'd be awesome if everyone who participated could do the following

leave feedback for me here : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...r&mid=14874

leave feedback for dez (keeping in mind he is responsible for the majority of the work involved with this group buy) here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=22515&la=0

and also for Amec (feedback on the product itself) here : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...r&mid=27224

If everyone could do that it would be good that the people involved were recognised for their efforts in the GB

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
