SKYRYAN
I think more people would go if you didnt need a cams licence of whatever it is that you need to go track days.. drags you can just turn up and off you go. I don't think so. You can organise a temporary CAMS licence on the day. When you get you act together & want a permanent one (re-issued every 12 months) it involves the massive inconvenience of A. Filling out a form. B. Writing a cheque/credit card authorisation for <$100. C. Sending it to CAMS. It really is not that hard. ix9
You mean like these places?Frankly I get tired of people whinging there is nowhere to go & yet when I turn up to track days there are half empty grids. I think he was going for more of the "skid pan @ 1am cruise with the boys" kinda thing. Pfft. "Motoring enthusiasts" my ass if they don't goto track days and try one Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176860-hoons/page/3/#findComment-3237755 Share on other sites

"Motoring enthusiasts" my ass if they don't goto track days and try one Well my point is twofold. 1. Once you have had a proper go at some track days you will understand how completely lame "exploring the limits" of your car on the road is. 2. We need to differentiate ourselves as "motoring enthusiats" simply so we don't all get landed with the "hoon" tag. As an aside I have found the people who organise & participate in these things to be enthusiastic, supportive & generally great to deal with. The shame of it is that there aren't more people involved. Have a look at http://www.circlework.com.au for some photos of the Speed event at Wanneroo last weekend (14th). You can see that anything from a full blown series IV RX-7 sports sedan to a humble Mini is perfectly fine to get out there & have a go in. R DIRTY 3
You mean like these places?Frankly I get tired of people whinging there is nowhere to go & yet when I turn up to track days there are half empty grids. EXACTLY!!!! I attend every NoLimitEvents night at Barbagallo (not as a driver, I assist with the smooth running of the event) and have done for a few months. We could easily run twice the amounts of cars that we get!!!! I say if you want to show how good you are to your mates, get your car down there and get it timed. Compare your times and obviously, the fastest lap time is the better car/driver....and as a bonus you can do over 150 kph with out the risk of losing your car for 48 hours....no kerbs or trees to hit! Seems like a no brainer to me. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176860-hoons/page/3/#findComment-3238824 Share on other sites
