Sorry I just had to share a friend of a friend of mine just brought a Series 1.5 or 2 Im not sure of the difference white mspec for like 10k unregistered and without roadworthy.

To me 10k is extremely cheap the thing has been looked over and all that was found was a leaking strut apparently (according to my friend another skyline owner) its clean has the full mspec kit and is untouched..except for rims

Is it just me or is 10k extremely cheap.

I will post up some pics tonight as my brother is a mechanic and is taking it for roadworthy.

Ill also try get her to join the forums.

if its 97 then it will be a S2 yeah thats cheap! depending on K's. i got mine series 1 95 (1.5), for 11k in feb with rego and roady and i thoiught i did considerably well. "according" to the odometer it had 88k on it (all numbers are pefectly inline) . im happy with it.

sounds like your mate scored a bargin too. post pics

i paid 13,500 for mine in june last year, did reasonably well but yeh since these new laws, the price has come down for 33 and up for 32 as p-platers can still drive 32's. ship some back or start burning them lol.

fark...the de-preciation on skylines is doin my head in. My series 2 cost me 18 grand when i bought it from a dealer! We need to ship some back to japan to have less for sale...!

it's ok more and more dickheads are binning them and wrecking for parts.

i definitely see less R32GTRs on the road than 2 years ago

But what i dont understand is wasn't the r33 always illegal to drive on p's?

32's have held there price way too well for my liking... :D

Yes you're right, either ship em back or keep writing em off! whatever helps to slow the depreciation...;

Not for long,

soon all turbo cars will be banned for P's

Ill post up some pics a bit later I just got home from work now and its sitting in the driveway just a bit too dark for soem good pics. Its bloody clean though has 17" advan tri spoke wheels on it and other than that looks stock as a rock.. Ill check the odometer reading etc a lil later and update you all a bit more.

Alright so I just went out and had a look its an 97 has green neons *lol* has JVC head unit as well as stock tape deck, turbo timer, some sort of GPS unit, is definately a series 2 with 89,000km on the clock, has a rear strut brace (do all series 2's have this), and hks super filter air intake setup...

but heres the downer and what I wasnt told....its an auto....so is that still a good price...

OKay I know this sounds really dumb but series 2's still need to be compliance yeah?? I cant see a compliance plate anywhere under the hood of this thing there normally green and sat somewhere either on the strut top or firewall yeah? Could be why it was so cheap...

yeah all imports need compliance man. check for a pink compliance plate too...(but i think thats only if its less than 10 years old - im sure though)

its not my car so to be honest im not too concerned but I am worried for her a 97 auto with mods for 10k is cheap as it is could be due to no compliance..

i did the old look for a rego sticker mark on the window couldnt see that either.

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
