akeenan: that's right. I ended up taking the bus from the Narita to Shinjuku and it cost me about 30 bucks... My point is, if we are going, we should really know how to read at least some Japanese so that we don't get lost...

inark: cool, would you arrange for US to stay at her house, too? Hehehe... Is she pretty? :D

lol shiro... yeah shes not bad. I was with her when i was like 15 or 16 and she was 21 :P

gfs not too happy on the idea of me staying there... but for no real reason as she has NOTHING to worry about.

as for learning some Japanese im all up for that... but how? :D perhaps if someone brings a laptop and we babelfish everything lol

LOLLLLLLLL

Im onto it narkeh! My laptop is tiny and has gprs, so we are all sweet.

Just imagine a group of aussies gathered in front of a sign reading translations off a laptop....

:bahaha: classic

i leave on august 2nd for akita. been with the gf for almost 5 1/2 years, 'bout time i met the parents... but i get to spend a week in tokyo before i come back.

the problem you guys will have is that's it's 'obon' over there (www.japan-guide.com/e/e2286.html) and the hotels will be busy.

your best bet would be to book a package tour. try H.I.S. in the city (level 9, 257 collins st) or another travel agent and tell them you what you can pay.

also, you don't need a visa if you go for less than 3 months but you do need to prove you have a place to stay.

don't worry if you don't speak japanese, it's easy to get around. almost all signs are in japanese/english. just learn the essential phrases; "nismo wa doko?"

LOL 'nark... I tried learning Japanese once and it is pretty damn hard! Way harder than I thought!

Anyway, if you guys are going, there are some 80% chance that I am going... I don't think it is a problem. I've been saving up for years since I don't want to spend too much on modifications anymore... Keep me posted, Dudes...

damn only $500 odd to go all the way to japan!! u sure u wont be traveling in the cargo hold for that price??

Would love to go 2, but wayyy to busy at work.

As for sending back a container its quite easy, long as u can find a good seaworthy container over there to hire u can organise with an aus freight company to ship it back from there 2 here!

But u will have to fill it full of stuff or else it wont be worth the cost!!

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
