My car: Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T. Stock with turbo back exhaust. 65,000 KMs. Do not go to the track. Should I go for 5w-30, 5w-40 or 10w-30? blind_elk Posted July 30, 2007 Share Posted July 30, 2007 Factory recommendation is a 7.5W-30. You want an oil that is a 30 at operating temp. The 7.5 is only relevant to how quickly the oil will circulate at cold startup. In winter, maybe a 5W over a 10W, but really doesn't matter all that much. Should I go for 5w-30, 5w-40 or 10w-30? no reply as there are 15 pages on redline in that thread and its obvious you didnt read any of it. pure street use, no real mods I would try a 5W30 redline and reduce startup wear. the HTST rating of the 30wt are better than 40wt M1. out.
