lol reminds me of the chump that hit my last car...tried to drive off, I got him out of the car, got his rego and licence number...then the moron pretended he wasn't home etc etc when I was trying to give him the quote for the repair. The insurance company nailed him for close to $2K just cause he was stupid and didn't fork over $500 for me to fix the car.

i had a motor bike run a red light into the b pillar on my last car and wrote it off....the only detail he gave me that was correct was his first name....last name was slightly different, wrong licence number, phone number disconected, wrong address.......was at mt gravatt. luckily i used my trusty camera phone to take pics of his bike and got his rego number. went to the cop shop and they gave me all the details he was supposed to but told me if i went and saw him personally then id get in serious trouble. in the end it turned out he didnt have insurance and had to go through all the legal crap. ended up with about 80% of what i should have but got to keep the wreck. pain in the ass

Thanks for your info.. i just spoken to my cousin (solicitor), he reckon we can take legal action against the driver if he refuse to pay the claim. :)

my machette... my fist and gloria.. (my crowbar) is all the insurance u need vicne..

OMFG DUDE! You named your crowbar after my mum!! What the hell! :P

Sorry to hear about the 32... I'm guessing it was some little old azn lady that got scared and ran off :( Let us know how today's station visit goes.

Sounds like they're buggering you around a bit mate.

The cop shop in Woodridge sorted my mess out within a few days of my car being egged by an oncoming car full of punks, they didn't expect me to turn around and chase them. I got their number plates and went straight to the police station.

I had to get a quote on the damage and if the repairs cost was in excess of $250 (i think) it made it a more serious matter (instead of just willful damage - in this case).

My damages weren't that expensive so i pretty much got a quote, gave it to the police station and a few days later i got a cheque in the mail :)

good to see people winning.. gives u a bit more confidence

Finally got a call from the officer.. :worship: after 6 days.. :) and gave me the contact details and the address for the driver..

Rang the driver, his car was not insured and agreed to repair mine.. hopefully the bill is not too much for him.

I guess he will learn the lesson now... DO NOT HIT A SKYLINE AND RUN ! BIG BRO IS WATCHING YOU !!!! :)

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
