It was the first production car to go sub 8 min. I understand the new GTR is targeting close to 7 min

It'll be an awesome effort to get anywhere near 7. The quickest cars in world are doing 7min times. Personally I think the new GTR will be somewhere between 7 1/2 and 8 mins. You might be refferring to the below list which has the GTR at 7.15, which i think is pure crap. Physics alone means there is no way a car as big and heavy with the rumoured power could achieve this time. But - would love to be wrong on this one.

Yeah no way the new GTR will do 7.15... its aiming for the 911 Turbo which would be a touch slower than the 997 GT2....

Regardless, anywhere near the 7:30 is farken quick.

That R33 GTR in that video must of been stock, how slow does it accelerate!!!
