Welcome to the forums. It's always great to have new members. Good luck in your hunt for a skyline. Take your time, and make sure that you are going to be happy with it. The only sound advice I can pass on is get a really decent alarm system fitted. Unfortunately it is getting to the stage where you need it as a much as you need 4 wheels on the car. Viper do a good alarm. Have a look on ebay for them cos you can generally pick them up a lot cheaper than what you would pay for the same thing here. This is mainly cos the distributor doesn't get any decent rebate on them from Viper. Still, never-the-less they are a great Alarm system. Look forward to seeing you on one of the cruises when you get your new set of wheels

raa are crap .

my 2 cents

they dont know nething bout performance cars, i got them to come out one time to check my r34 when i was having trouble with it and the guy couldnt even tell me what was wrong with her.

honestly take it too a place that deals with performance cars day in and day out so you know that they know what they are doing and talking about.

raa = waste of monies

p.s get an alarm asap though (like everyone else has said)

14-15 sounds about right, pending what's on the car and the condition. I paid $15k for my 33GTSt earlier this year. do you have a link to an add for the car, or list some more details?

good idea about scrapping it and starting again

can always sell the old one for cheap too

AH Robski is a member here will be a well looked after ride

honestly i wouldn't bother with RAA now we know who owned it ring up Shaun from boostworx and ask him about the car 'ROBSKI' you may think its funny buy Shaun has a meticulous memory he will know if its good or bad

Hey, welcome to the forums. Alot of RAA mechanics dont really no a great deal about turbo performance vehicles "in my experiences anyway". Your best bet is to go to a performance workshop for a once over.

Ryan

They don't know a lot about anything.

I bought a 3yr old VS 5ltr 5speed some years ago; had it RAA inspected only to discover within a week of owning the car it had loose engine mounts, water running down the side of the block due to a leaky inlet manifold, minor chassis rail damage of which wasn't mentioned on the report and an incorrectly installed tail shaft centre bearing which caused vibrations and thumping on acceleration.

well what i would advise is to get the vin/ engine number and all that! you should check to see if the numbers the person has given you are the actual numbers on the car! and then call up or go onto ezyreg and check! it'll tell you if the car is defected, stolen or finace owing on it etc etc! and then a raa check would be nice!

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
