Take one for a test drive if you can....there's alot of models available from a 2.5lt NA, 2,5lt Turbo, 2.5lt Diesel, 3lt NA, 3.5lt NA. You will find that the 2.5lt Turbo's is fairly easly to get a hold of.....206kw and 410nm's....so there enough power there. If your really interested you should have a look to see wether you can get a brochure off ebay or something. Inside the car is something again....the Japs get everthing....dvd, tv, sat nav(these all need converting though)....see pictures.

P.S. If you are doing and import make sure you talk to a compliance place before purchase(don't go above a 2003 model...might also find you can only do the 2.5lt turbo)

do a search for autech axis : all will be revealed there :P

there was a recent thread about a 2004 model stagea but i think the issue was the year it was manufactured - since ADR laws changed in late '03 or early '04 or something...

I too would be interested to find out if the VQ25DET powered stageas up to and including 2003 models are elligible for compliance here.

Off what I have learn't....from the begginning of the M35 run the VQ25DET was in it. If you want to confirm all detail contact Ben at North Shore Prestige on 02 9948 5302....good guy's

Didn't the VQ25DET come out on the 2001 stageas? Do you know if 2001-2003 models (earlier than 11/03) are compliancable?

Even though the car might be exactly the same under the skin, etc. right through from 2001 through to 2004, the ADR's work on build date, regardless of the fact that the car has not significantly changed at all. This is why they're stuck with trying (and failing) to comply with ADR79 - the rules changed at the beginning of 2004, and emission laws became a lot tougher.

you wouldn't have a pic of the engine bay at all... how does the single turbo work on a v6??? placement of the turbo?

bottom left of engine just in front of passenger footwell

very awkward to extract it's an engine out job as I've just found out

pays to keep an eagle eye on the air filter

    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.
    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
