Nissan skyline owners are being warned by police to take extra steps to secure their cars after a spate of thefts in the past three months. Since may, 13 skylines have been stolen from the local area all have been recovered and returned to owners. Sen-sgt Carole Johnson said Skylines were targeted becouse they were high-performance vehicles and were often used to evade police during a pursuit. Police said skyline owners should install immobilisers and alarms, use club locks and park their cars in a garage or behind locked gates.

I was just speaking to a source in the know, apparently the official number of skylines reported stolen in august was 30!

The more concerning news to go with it is that approximately 80% of the cars that have been stolen have never shown up again, not even as parts being sold, so the question is, where the hell are they??

This is definately crap, and makes me happy that my parking at work is behind a 12' roller door and 10' fence. Apart from here, the car is only ever parked at home locked up in the garage.

brittz: how come you have to park it at a shopping centre to catch the bus to town? Are there no bus route's near your house? Reason I ask is, because if you are taking the time to catch a bus anyway, is there the posibility to leave the car at home? Or if your friend is driving to the shopping centre, maybe hitch a ride with her too?

there is a bus stop kinda near me but it means getting up so early and my parents dont really like me walking to the bus stop alone as in the past 3 months there has been a rape, and 5 reports of a man flashing at the bus stop i would use. and thats sick!... so thats why i drive to the shopping center and park then catch the nus in. I just wish someone would really beat up these theifs or rip out their eyes or cut a body part off insted of given them community service because they just re offend anyway! god pissed off!

Sorry Brittz but if you leave your car at TTP it WILL be stolen. If they have all day to work on it while you are away, then you have absolutely no chance. It takes under 10 minutes to saw off a club lock. They will set off your alarm 5 minutes after you park it - then your battery will be flat within a couple of hours, then they will take it. As much as I applaud your choice in buying a cool car, there is no way one should be left there. You should definitely be considering other options.

When I used to park there and catch the O-Bahn to school I had my (various crap) cars broken into at least 6 times a year. Never to steal them (as they were pos's), but to take my spare change, CDs, stereos and speakers. Once they even smashed the rear windscreen to take the 6x9s out of the rear shelf. That is how desperate these scumbags are.

Yep definatly agree with Andrew, Never ever leave your car at TTP unless you have no absolute choice to do anything else. I was in the Mc donalds one day and my car was in sight over in the TTP carpark and i could see some bogans walking all around it looking sussed. To many have been stolen and damaged there.

its really bad, im sick of getting pulled over by cops for no reason, every time i shite myself thinking that they are going to defect me. i got pulled over 3 times and tailed twice in one night.

but maybe this is a good thing, because when i first got the car i was pulled over by a cop, I think maybe this is good because they are aware about the problem and are just checking to see if the car stolen or what ever, i would like it if my car was stolen and a cop pulled over the guy who stolen just to check. The more cops pull skyline drivers over for routine checks (not defecting) the better it may become... well thats what i think anyway.

um dude with 2 of the right tools you'll have one off in 30secs to a min

i agree if they were doing proper license and registration checks not lets see if we can defect you checks they might get some respect

ive been on the right side and the wrong side of the Law they get my respect now as they are only doing there job no mater how we agree/disagree

theres no such thing as a routine check nowadays haha its all for defecting :domokun:

famous words from a cop to me was 'this is a random breath test, pop your bonnet.' and still didnt get that breath test haha

      Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)

      Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D

      Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D

      Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.

      Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
