Nuts And Bolts :) ... Oh And Studs

Hey guys,

In the process of an engine conversion still that is coming along extremely slowly. Im now at the point where its time to put stuff back together and i would like to replace my header studs before i put them back on.

A few times ive needed nuts and bolts here an there, ive found a few at bunnings that i needed to put my engine stand together.

Couldnt find this question asked anywhere so ill raise it.

Where do you guys source your nuts and bolts. Nissan is obviously an expensive option. Would be good to hear a range of places.

P.S to save making another topic, can anyone tell me the bolt sizes that are used to hold an rb20det gts4 sump on, or a staggy series 1 rb25det??? (they are the same sizes)

I've been looking but I've never found a place that offers a good range of automotive bolts.

I use coventry fastners for things like stainless cap screws and I have bought a lot of stainless M6 bolts from them for other things but they are just builders bolts.

I have bought a lot of bolts from Nissan though, the bolts are great they just cost a mint and take 7 days to get in from Japan.

I'd be keen to know if anyone else has had luck finding a good source of automotive bolts.

I have found most city centres have at least one good bolt and engineering supplies shop...In Newcastle it is called Newcastle High Tensile...funny enough..

Anything for exhaust work such as studs, I go to places like GCG. +1 for goods brands such as ARP..Yes they sell expensive bolts but its more about getting what you paid for...I have been to XXX (name omitted by author due to libel risk) automotive stores before and bought their high tensile bolts only to have them strip or break which is a pain in the arse and wastes a shitload of time.. Also I have never seen any decent automotive bolts in hardware stores either..
