Cheers for that. I just got Ikeya formula ones myself, awesomely made and very tough, but thinking of changing to cusco as they have the dust covers. Will go Ikeya Lower control arms later, but don't really know anyone in adelaide who has the knowledge to adjust the roll centre correctly.

True, Ikeya arms are as tough as nails. Far surpass the factory gear. I have standard traction arms in the S14 and also in the 31. (Have 33 GTS-T cradle going in)

As for adjusting the roll centre.... it's not a case of something someone can do, the arms themselve have a roll centre adjuster built into them, which brings the roll centre back up to near where is should be. I dont have them in the S14, probably wont get them. My roll centres are through the earths core, yet it seems to drift fine. Nothing internally combusts or the earth stops turning LOL. I may put them in the front at some stage as my LCA's look like they're at a 45 deg. upward angle lol......

What you said is more correct talking about traction rods.... not too many people have the knowledge to set them correctly. I may get some later on, but a very low priority on my list of things to do.

i know you can make the steering wheel go in and out but that doesnt help i need it to go up more..

underneath the steering wheel where you pulled down the latch thing to make it go in and out there will be another one just next to it to move the steering wheel up and down

And from all accounts he charges through the ass for f**k all work. :D

Apparently his dad @ The workshop is the man to see. Cant remember what the name of the company was though.... Ill send him an SMS and find out.

bingo, i got charged a buttload to do not a lot (and the job only ended up half done on my trailer as it was), they used to be good but i would only recommend them if i knew the dad was going to do the work

kye, its not really that hard mate, but if ya want some help, get in contact with pete (marv). he'd be able to help ya out im sure, and he's only over at pt noarlunga. enough bribery with spirits would get him over to ya

id offer to help but wouldnt be able to do it for a couple of weekends

having bbq at my place today for aussie day, if your bored and want to come round hit me up with an sms or a pm if you dont have my number, i'm up near modbury/ingle farm.

Ofcourse it was on there behalf, were all the reason's why ppl have car crashes and that on the road, so chowing there doing something about it makes them look a whole lot better for doing nothing

omg the lights on the intersection of brighton rd and jetty road brighton are WAY out of wack

was in my mates car, we had a green arrow to turn right off jetty rd onto brighton rd, so natrally we went... but a massive truck came steeming up behind us with more wheels locked than i care to count.

went back there and watched the patterns, and sure enough, there was a green light for the traffic to keep going on brighton road, while it was showing a green arrow for ppl to turn off jetty road and onto brighton :S :S

my mate reported the fault... hopoefully no one got in an accident.... we were lucky

was it because you drive a skyline Carl that you see all traffic lights as green :P

do it Damo :D

lol, was in an 13bt RX4... i was the frightened passenger, with my a$$hole puckering like a blind knife throwers assistant

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
