just got the 34 back from the panel beaters and Fark the front bar looks soooo good......cost me a little bit more than expected but i was told why and i can understand and im happy with the price that i paid. the way its been fitted is fantastic......its been done sooo well.....normally underneath the drivers side headlight there is a bigger gap than what is under the passengers side....they are both even as now...

soooo soooo happy :) im definetly gonna be getting the guy to respray the car next year...........cant wait. and its a proper respray. taking her right back to metal!!!!!!!!!!!

That's absolute GOLD Matty........I felt like signing up on that forum just to post in that thread with my solution to his problem, drill holes in all 4 rims and chain all the wheels together....guaranteed to turn the same amount.......or not. Problem is, someone would reply and say, "great idea, might give it a go"!

damo, will get quotes for ya on that

hav a laugh at this one :)

Surely something in his head said. "How will this turn once I've welded it up." Scarily I think he was serious. Some people should have their tools taken away. Sterilisation anyone??? lol

man. even i'm not stupid enough to do that..... wtf was he thinking? short answer, i guess he wasn't...

im a big rota fan, if im ever in the position to build a project car again it will be sumthing with a stinking rota in it, that noise is pronz

I love RX7 had more then a few of them, I had 13 in my time (I bought wrecked ones to sell off for cash after body kitted and tricked out had a dealers license from mazda USA).. including two 1981 RX7 races cars, one full tilt body kitted ,tube frame beast built my Racing beat in California.

one car with full cage I drove for 11 yrs , 500,000 MILES on it not K's on factory tranny, and LSD. only blew a rotors seal after 400,000miles racing a 427 AC cobra. car still ran on 1 rotor but no power. always used mobil 1 and redline oils in tranny every 3k...never left me stranded !!!! unlike so many other cars

one with a 12A Bridge port motor.. lots and lots of rpm and noise from hell 300hp, NA

if I was building a low cost drift car, hands down it would be a RX7 due to the caining they can take and handle great, dont need a turbo to be fast in RX7, they just go even faster with turbs..lol

in USA RX7 are cheap as hell, why are they so much here????

I dont think the cops here would like the noise of a bridgeport motor at 13k..lol crotch rocket from hell noise..lol

I've always felt alot of tools drive rotaries ... but then again, alot of tools drive skylines and commonwhores too :)

Had a 13B in a 1600 years ago. That was fun.

Oh bet that was fun

sad day when i sold my RX7 to my mate, he had 4 RX7 in his day, only to see him destroy the body kit in a week, bend the rims, and lock up the new motor by not putting oil in it.. he sold it to a wreckers for next to nothing before letting me buy it back,, it had at least 20k in racing parts on it still, stupid tool, we dont talk anymore.lol

all this talk makes me need a race car toy again..lol damn you guys!!!!corrupting me

    • I certainly fall into the annoyed camp, but glad to hear that if it's happening at low boost then I'm not likely going to blow a turbo and end up with metal shards in my oil. Just feels like it prevents me from really driving it without hesitation and "peak" performance. Wonder if it's the VCAM, it did an impressive job of shifting the torque curve and faster spool, but maybe now it's "too fast" and there's too much air for how open the throttle is.  Based on some other threads, will also do some reading on synchronizing the actuators. They are the default actuators that come on the Garrett's and I would think they would be set the same coming from the factory, but if the turbos don't actually work exactly the same way at the same time as previously mentioned, it would be worth making sure the actuators are actuating together properly
    • I went down this rabbit hole before, ended up sourcing a motor from the UK (I'm in Japan) which also didn't function correctly. With the original motor, I disassembled it and reassembled it and it works somewhat, sometimes. What I could deduce from all my screwing around is that there is calibration of the gears on the inside of the motor and two ramps on the main gear which activate switches that operate the motor and move the sunroof either to retract into the roof or tilt. Where I got stuck was that, it seemed in my case that one or both of the switches that are activated by the ramp on the gear did not always activate and thus the motor did not move, causing it to sometimes not retract or tilt (apologies, I've forgotten which way it didn't work.).  Of course this part is discontinued at Nissan now, it's the same part in the S15 but no other models. I also contacted the manufacturer of the component for schematics - forgot the name, they're based in Gifu - but they declined to share the information due to being bound by an NDA, sadly. Looking through my pictures now, it seems I last had a crack at this in 2022. See, I so kindly wrote "open" and "close" next to the switches. If you figure it out, please do tell me. Those little switches, with the red buttons may need to be replaced.
    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
