question for those in the know...

i got done for speeding last October , i cant apply for my p2's till October this year (12 months from offense) ,

transport SA website also says this:

If you have incurred 1,2 or 3 demerit points while under the age of 19 as a holder of a P1 or P2 provisional license, you may not progress to a full license until after your 20th birthday.

now , im 19 turning 20 in December (i think...) , does that mean i can apply for p2's in October , then come my birthday in December apply for a full license ?

its 3am and i wanna know LOL

what an eventful f**king evening.

started awesome with rise against, the only downer about that was the only merch they were selling in my size was a hoody for $80.

then it all started going down hill from there, went to hq to meet up with a couple people from work, note to everyone, hq sorta sucks when youre sober, so dont drive to hq, ended up with one of the girls i was there with being thrown out, BY HERSELF! through the fence at hq's outdoor area, fair enough she was fair drunk, but you dont throw a girl who can barely stand on her own two feet in some random f**king parking lot by herself! ended up tearing the security guys a new one for show so little regard and foresight, i thought it was a pretty f**kin disgraceful thing to do. i then spent the next 30 minutes running around hq trying to find drunk girls sister and other work mates. f**k. i need some sleep.

dont wanna mess with the bouncers there... they are bastards.

a guy i know was in the smoking area out the back, and happened to film the bouncers stomping some 18 y.o on his camera.

long story short he palmed the camera off to another friend, and got rounded up and searched by the bouncers on his way out. (they had about 5 guys that looked like him held there too) the took his wallet, wrote down all his details from his drivers license, then told him that if the police were invloved or anything came up on today tonight or any current affairs shows, that they would bring it to his home.

No.

You MUST stay on your P2's for a MINIMUM of 6 months. Since you've offended on your P1's, you may have to undertake a driver-awareness course as well as the normal test to progress to your P2's.

I was sort of in the same situation, but regardless of your age, you MUST be on your P2's for 6 months.

I've trained and competed with a few of them boys back in the day, and I can tell ya they're more size than skill.

Remember going to HQ one night ages ago and a big brawl broke out between me and my 3 mates and some 20 non-australians (no need to be racist). We did well against them, but still copped a pounding having been grossly outnumbered. Bouncers just stayed back and watched for the most part, before they stepped in and broke it up. Cowards. One mate was knocked out, another banged up bad, and me and Ryan were sore as f**k ... but we returned the favour two fold pretty much. The bouncers knew us, yet they didn't have our backs! Their excuse was "we thought you were doing so well, we let it go a little longer". We asked them do we get their pay for the night for doing their jobs? Arrogant f**kers! Our association with them pretty much ended that night.

We still give them shit when we/I see them. Some of the security work around at various shopping malls and quiter pubs. Everytime I walk past one, I give him shit with "Oh, better not have a fight break out and need me to do your job for you!"

Edit:

Actually, it was last year I returned the favour at Church when one of them was getting pounded by a group (maybe 4?) of drunk patrons on the dance floor. I just sat back and watched ... :D

cronic is right on the money there, i had to do the same thing.

i got done when i was 18, went back to p1, didnt get my fulls til 20 odd, pretty harsh penalty for just 1 stupid mistake really...

but thems the rules.

typical shifty bouncers, they might cop a hard time from drunk patrons but they have no right doing stuff like Carl mentioned. And HQ is supposed to have a good security rep since reopening its doors after heaven shut down...

Still though, cant beat the bouncers at the old Rise. When a punchup would happen, they'd wait until the fight was finished and remove the ones that were knocked out... i remember standing next to a 2 on 2 brawl right in front of the bar / main dancefloor, and these two blokes got knocked the f out, boots to the head while on the ground, they got hammered. Bouncers calmly walk over and literally dragged the two guys on the floor by their legs out to the foyer...

Rise, oh gee... don't get me started. If you ever ventured into the top room at Rise, you'll know what I'm talking about.

HQ security is pretty bad. Club 199 used to have pretty full-on security, though. Dude at the door literally patted you down, checked behind your belt for pills/weapons, etc.

Only a week ago, I was at Electric Circus on a Friday night. 4 guys got into a huge punch-up on the floor yet security did absolutely nothing. All they did was stopped the music! Then, the 4 guys got up and calmly walked out... it was kind of strange.

But if you're ever in trouble in a club, don't bother running for security.

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
