the stimulus is being sent out in post code order ;)

dont ask if it is from lowest to highest etc

scandy got his, hes in Smithfield 5114, and Adrian got his, hes in Cheltenham 5014, figure that out! Any southies got theirs?

A weeks holiday to the next person to mention krudd and stimulas? : yes:

family first wouldn't of let this nonsense happen

Wait... you want Family First to run this country? It'd be like Greenpeace running the country... it'd simply never happen.

5163 here and I haven't got my monies yet

I heard it was done in alphabetical order in surnames!

im 5108, nothing here either. Should we start a thread? "Stimulus Package Order Postcode Prediction"

Be a shame if any you guys knew about politics

So by that logic, nobody here knows anything about politics and you do? I wasn't aware you had a doctorate in politics steve. please enlighten us poor myopic peasants

ff's preferance went to the libs

and Ben you helped vote krudd in and somehow think he would do a better job not going by what he's doing so far

Aside from a couple minor gripes, mostly regarding the lack of environmental initiative and that STUPID internet filter, I think hes doing OK tbh, liberal scaremongering notwithstanding. Look at the opinion polls - most people approve of him (not counting the heavy liberal bias on this forum naturally - if they polled SAU most of you guys would be on turnbulls dick...)

funny to think ff's preferences went to howard, an immoral bastard if ever there was one. Mandatory detention, tampa/children overboard, WMD bullshit, need I go on?

My God Ben your opinions are scary.

Howard has led Australia through the most prosperous 12 years in the nations existence. In fact I am willing to bet everything I have that were Labor in power for the last 12 years we would be in a VERY different future right now. It is unarguable that Australia is faring as one of the best ecomonically and socially in the world right now. Go to Japan and look at their economy right now. Or America with no jobs, collapsed property market, no dole, no free health care.

Now some of Australia's current affluence is off the back of a strong (particularly developing) world economy, but most of it is through brilliant initiatives and strong economic planning and leadership.

He was instrumental in writing the Work Choices policy, which yes, from a purely blue collar perspective did limit worker's powers and take away some penalty rates, but if Howard had won the election, and Work Choices fully implemented, thousands of factories that are heading offshore (Bonds, Hard Yacka, Holden etc etc) would have stayed in Australia providing tens of thousand of jobs. Under Krudd these jobs are LONG GONE NEVER TO COME BACK. How are these people going to pay their mortgages? With a couple of free handouts? Prolong the suffering, yes, but solve anything, NO.

Mandatory detention. Would you rather have the govt let tens of thousand of ILLEGALS wander Australia? Had Liberals not taken a hard stance against ILLEGALS, word would have spread throughout the world and every man and his dog would have been trying to illegally enter Australia. In fact you will find that under Howard we have had a record high amount of both skilled labour and politically oppressed migrants enter the country via legal options. How the hell could you condone not locking up people who COME HERE ILLEGALLY ON FISHING VESSELS? Are you mad?

Children overboard had nothing whatsoever to do with Howard. It had all to do with Labor driven political media scaremongering and absolute lies. Did Howard push children into the water? NO. Did he order Naval officers to do it? NO. Did hundreds of ILLEGAL border crossers pack into an unseaworthy boat that sank? YES. Did Aus Navy officers rescue the whole lot? YES. I don't understand the issue here. Had Aus Navy not been there, the whole boat load of people would have drowned. How is this a blight on Howard?

Now WMDs are a no-brainer. 1). Back up your allies - we did not have a choice - this is what allies do. 2). Had the world not taken action against suspicion of WMDs, when clearly Hussein et al would not let weapons inspectors enter sites/regions etc. then clearly the world 'police' is not doing it job. What did Hussein have to hide? If no-one had taken action and a chemical weapon used on another country what would you be saying then? You would be screaming blue murder they should have done something.

*shakes head*

how is the far left today fine sir?.......

rudd has votes cause a) he is giving most the population $900 b) has the best PR team ever assembled in political history.

howard got the job done, didnt mind stepping on toes and put this country in the best shape it has been in years. no PR bullshit, no throwing money for votes, and despite the labour idiots massive scare campaign (biggest in the history of elections) kept doing his job.

yep you summed it up perfectly Rhys.

It is such a shame that the massive Labor scaremongering campaign (to use Ben's word) worked on the stupid Aus public so well. Their assertions (always backed up by the media) that Howard would retire during his next term put a massive scare in the populous. For a reason I cannot fathom a lot of people don't like Costello, as they think he smirks too much and has shifty eyes - but have you had a look at the duchebag they voted in instead? Always with a stupid grin on his face.

I firmly believe had Howard stepped down a year before the election and let Costello hold the reins for a while, Costello would have easily won people over, and they would have won easily. Let's face it, Costello has had a huge hand in running the country for the past decade anyhow, and his ideals are firmly in-line with all the awesome work Howard did to bring us into the 21st century.

Now we have 2 clowns that wander around smacking heads, trying desperately to figure out how to run things. And giving away some free cash to put the country out of a $5bn surplus into a $40bn debt within 18 months is the best they can come up with? Sheesh. We are in for a very shitty next few years - mark my words.

What have they really achieved since coming into power Ben?

How is that 'laptop for every child' promise going? How is the national Broadband network going? How are cheaper grocery prices going? How is the 'fuel watch' program going? Need I say more?

    • I drive the Tiguan much harder than the Skyline in all conditions, because it just grips and hooks, unlike the R33 shit box
    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
