Not sure where the RB25DET engine torque figure listed above came from, but it's actually quoted by Nissan as 30.0kgm at 4800rpm - just under 295Nm.

The UK skyline forum and another source..... Nissan

seat of the pants you can feel a huge difference in mid range from S1 R34 and S2 models in the same state of tune , even more so when you add a 270.00 part it improves the car dramatically in the low to mid range punch to make it soooo much better to drive daily

Troy, either we have a simple case of miscommunication, or you've plucked that Nissan claim out of your backside mate. Are we talking about the R33 Series 2 RB25DET producing 319Nm peak torque? If we are, then I will happily stake large sums of money on it that Nissan claim 30.0kgm (just under 295Nm) at 4800rpm for the GTS25t RB25DET engine - the factory Nissan Japan 1997-1998 R33 Skyline GT-R and Skyline model range glossy specifications, options, and accessories catalogues on my desk at work tell me so :)

^^ But Nick, they do expect it to be a girly hairdresser's car - and it delivers :)

Muhahahahahahahahahahaha

j/k mate .... she is a good car

whats going on with this new car of yours mate? been delayed again?

Where do you guys go for cheap (bargain) tyres?

At the moment I'm considering having a pair of Federal 595 SS sent from forum trader Access....

I just got some Federals from Option1Garage. Can't remember what type they are KU71 or something. I was trying to get their street legal semi slick but they didn't have any in stock. Cost me about $350 del for two new tires. Pretty good in my opinion

yeah Nick they replaced the vehicle speed sensors, but it didn't fix the problem - despite the ECU error code being 'vehicle speed sensors'. They are having another look at it Monday.

I am in no hurry to get it - in fact the longer it takes and the more things they fix/replace before I get it, the better for me, and the more time it gives me to sell my car (a guy who is interested is coming to look at it tomorrow). I was dreeading the thought of having 3 cars and only 2 garage spots. Meant I was going to have to put the new one out under the verandah where the R34 lived for the first 6 months of its time in Aus. Not easy then to just take either car to work in for the day depending on my fancy :)

Bah I like missionary though... the giving side of it... not the receiving. Because I'm so generous and all.

Any way to scam the scammer and run off with $7k or so? :)

How about set up a fake Paypal account, get him to transfer the money into that one, once it has cleared, transfer it into your proper paypal account, then into your bank account. Or just tell him to get a bank to write out a personal cheque and send it to you.

What a shit day!

I woke up with a headache. Did some housework. Watched the Crows lose after getting reamed by the umpires in the first half. Decide to go and wash my car and get done by a red light/speed camera on the way to the car wash. I was doing exactly 80kmph in an 80 zone and was well into the intersection before the light went red. F**king $300 odd dollar car wash! How can you contest the bloody tickets without risking an even greater fine?

I should have stayed in bed.

I thought the same thing this morning when i got up for work, but it was alright, i played UT3 all day while drinking Ice Coffee.

215/40 on the front!

yeah but i'd have to run 235's front and rear for the 4WD so the tyres are no good and i wouldn't fit 18x9 +20 in my guards with 235's on them, as im running 18x9 +30 atm.

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
