You said it man. I was just trying to help.

i added to that email to mike rann :P...... Also as a former employee of the now defunct Adelaide International Raceway, it has come to my attention through both the media and my own observations that the increase in young fatalities and the introduction of "Hoon laws" have come in since A.I.R have shut. The facts are out there, we as automotive enthusiasts have absolutely nowhere to take our cars, whether they be our street cars, or full on race cars. The closest place most people can enjoy their cars is at Mallala. Now you add up the cost of trailer hire, fuel costs of both the race car and the tow car, entrance fees and a racing licsnse and it can get quite lucrative, yet the government will just sit on their hands and do nothing. Opening another racing venue and getting patrons at the door will be like shooting fish in a barrell. Take for instance the drag strip in Sydney (WSID) they have 3 weekly "street meets" and at most of them, they have to turn entrants away as they are full to capacity, now if that isint a good incentive to get money back into the government, I don’t know what is. I am not the only person out there that has opinions like this as most drag racers have to either travel to Whyalla or Mildura to get to their closest drag strip

well said ben!

its not too bad for me now cause im only an hour and a half away from mildura, but for those to come from adelaide its a massive drive

the thing thats is bad is that if you drive out to mallala in your pride and joy to do what you want legally and take spare tyres etc etc , you still will probably end up getting defected :P

like obviously the person is going out of their way to do it legally , shouldnt have to reem them

What posses toothless bogan to egg you on to do a burnout! Sorry dip shit i actually can afford a car and a dentist!

What posses drop kicks to break into the CAMCO SA P/L site i work at in the Botanic Gardens, hot wire the mini excavator and trash the gardens and resturant!

END RANT ;)

Good to hear your cars back on the road Dave! :P

Just heard about the EXCTO thing too BOOF, not good at all mate. Hope they dont stuff you around too much with it, damn auto industry and outsourcing everything overseas shits me big time!

hey all..

my car (r32 rb25det) is idling at like 500rpm... how can i get it idling higher? throttle control valve on the back of the plenum? do i wind it in or out?

just did a service and its just really low!

any ideas? stock everything besides splitfires!

also my handbrake light stays on!

Disconnet your TPS and unscrew the idle adjustment screw on the aac valve (anti-clockwise) until you get a decent idle. Have a look at the aac cleaning DIY, pretty sure it covers idle adjustment mate

might be along shot, but has anyone ever cleared anything themself through customs? Got a pallet arriving from Japan very soon and need it cleared. Been told i can do it myself.

Cheers.

correct.

keys were in the ignition of my car and all the other cars in the shop which even if i did have comp insurance on it , wouldnt do shit...

I find this very hard to believe, every time i have been there first thing in the morning for a tune all the cars had to be moved out so get to the dyno, and in every case the cars were lock and alarmed if they had alarms and the key were kept in a locked cabinet.

Also comming on here and discussing it on a public forum is not the way to go about getting the issue resolved, any chance you had of getting them to helping you out is gone since you have already tarnished their name.

I if was the owner of a workshop and you did that to me before i had a chance to work through it with you i would have 4 words for you; "see you in court".

Dale, Mitch hasn't done anything that could warrant those 4 words.........someone else did but that was edited immediately.

However Mitch, as Dale rightly pointed out, discussing it with us in here won't necessarily endear you to them........probably best to sit down with Dave Keen (one on one) and discuss their liability in all of this.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
