cbf waiting on the phone for 45 minutes for an answer?

so, i just turned off my music and was about to put my computer away when i hear a car idling in front of my place through my mostly always open window.

so i have a look outside and see an ea/eb ford with no lights stopped at the base of my driveway, so about 20 feet from my window, and i hear;

voice 1: "this one?"

voice 2: "yeah, this one, its always here."

they sit there for a few seconds more, and slowly drive off before gunning off a few houses down.

opposite my place is a another street, so my paranoid mind can only conclude that they were talking about my place.

so im thinking i might park the 200 elsewhere for a few nights.

Wow. Talk about changing emotions from reading your last 2 posts Scandy.

I was laugh quite hard at Kermit being the Batman.

Your last post is f***ed up. Is it possible to set up a surveillance video on your carport/garage for the next week whilst your car is parked elsewhere? Can you park other cars behind yours? Fit an electrical wire around your car?

Edit: If we camp out I have toys from my martial arts days that can be useful.

nah kietz. not leaving it parked here any longer than i have to. even as bait. still a chance itll get f**ked up when im not home.

i say we camp out and wait for their return

lol. go for gold. in the meantime im gonna be finding a place to park the car and spending the whole day at work paranoid as all f**k.

yeah, bit of a rapid change. kermitman is awesome though.

my dads got a bunch of old cameras he bought off ebay sometime ago (had a lot of problems with vandalism, eggings, magna got graffed, even had a bunch of bricks thrown at the joint... got the cameras to catch the bastards, stopped not long after we got them), so i might be able to get some working and set up, unfortunately, parking cars behind it isnt really a possibility, i take the magna to the train station in the mornings, and my dad takes his car to work, leaves a solid few hours where the car is basically by itself.

suffice to say though, ill be adding a few extra security measures tonight for when im at work. chains through the front wheels and around the knuckles anyone?

anyway, whoever it is must live nearby, im fairly quiet around here, its rarely in plain sight, and yeah, basically has only moved 4 or 5 times in the last 4.5 months.

well u do know when you heard 'its this one, its always parked here' that means they are pretty sure its always parked there, and even if they dont see there for a few weeks, your going to eventually bring it home, and they probly live in your area so you think about how much time they have to check up on ur car and how much time you have your eyes on it when its there.

ill have eyes on the front of the house, the usual parking space, and the car itself (which will be parked elsewhere as of friday morning).

if they come back, they'll have their faces all over a half dozen cctv feeds.

    • I might just check it out.. A Q among all those skylines.. lol
    • Time will tell, they're doing all the admin stuff at the moment. I've submitted all the required details, photos, etc.   I was under the impression that DC coupling is the best approach, i.e.: Solar Array -> Battery Invertor -> Battery  Where as AC Coupling is simpler, however less efficient, i.e.: Solar Array -> Solar Invertor -> Battery Invertor -> Battery
    • The price is really great for that kind of capacity. I thought similar setups cost way more. How's your efficiency been with the DC-coupling? I've heard sometimes there can be a bit of a performance loss.
    • Long time no random post about shit. So I went down this deep deep rabbit hole of battery storage for the home, ended up locking in a 41.9kWh Fox ESS EQ4800 with 9 units stacked. Battery uses Lithium Iron Phosphate, similar to what you find in those deep cycle boat/caravan batteries. And yes, why did I go with a cheapie brand and not like Synergy? simply because I don't plan to stay at this house for more than another 3~5 years.  The entire install, DC coupling (removal of existing invertor, connecting the current 6.6kW array direct to the battery invertor), new 8kW invertor is $6K all up (after all the rebates etc.). Going with this lot: https://www.aussiesolarbatteries.com.au/ It did seem a bit too good to be true, however seems like the Whirlpool community has vetted it and when it comes to this kind of stuff, they seem to be all over it: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9pxj8482?p=38   I've requested for the battery to be installed outside, next to my meter board and not inside - rather have it combust and ignite outside lol.
    • In Vic it would be a defect regardless of whether or not you cut a hole in the sheetmetal for the return pipe. The rules in Vic are shitful, and are generally interpreted as you can "make 2 mods to the intake system". Putting an FFP and an FMI onto it will almost certainly be seen as some huge number of intake mods. You really need to speak to an engineer before doing this stuff in VIC.
