This is exactly what is going to happen. Police WILL be inside the park but they will be working WITH us. This is what we are trying to achieve so the innocent don't get raped.

Raped is such a harsh word, think of it more as suprise sex

Yeah, I see what your saying and understand what the goal is. But this is just Aspley Maccas all over again, about 3 years ago the police and McDonalds agreed that people could meet in the carpark. A few weeks/months went by then after time the police lost intrest in being there, then it turned into a skid fest. A few weeks of this occured then the polcie are back but shutting down the carpark to do a car by car search and handing out tickets like candy. It only takes a few bad apples and your up shit creek again trying to find a new place to hang...

Like i said, I hope it works I really do. But I doubt it will. Something about "history repeating" rings a bell...

:)

Thats a good one...

AHAHAHA That does make it more romantic :P

We will do our best for the cruise scene and hopefully it all works out for both parties involved.

Remember we are looking to use the carpark for the first time on Thursday 1st November. But we need your support at the meeting with regards to what you guys need or want to be organised for the park.

MEETING -

ZILLMERE PCYC

340 Zillmere Road

7.00pm Tuesday 23rd October

SCOOBA STEEEEEEEB

I like what i've read, good work :D Hope to be out there soonskies to catch up

Cheers, Anna xo

You better come or I will lock Nikita in a cupboard for you never to see her again MWahahahaha. :P

i will be avoiding this like the plague

anywhere cars gather, with a high likely hood of a number of defects being in the same area at teh same time, the cops will not be far off;

regardless of whether or not the owners of the properties dont mind the cars being there;

defects are defects;

It is very simple dont have a car that has got defects and you wont have a problem!

exactly. if its plated and has the papers IN THE CAR to back up the plate - what is your worry??

that said I'll probably venture down in the corolla first before driving my subaru wagon down there. last time I was at aspley I got a strange look (driving the starlet) so I never went back. :worship:

an off trivia point. why was BWCP set up? the organisers didn't want the dickheads out with them when they were street racing.. (yes that was the true reason.)

I see what you are doing and if you pull it off cleanly great. bearing in mind that magnesium dr (crestmead) was another spot that lots of people gathered at and it was blocked off plenty of times and canaries handed out. (I was there a few of them and managed NOT to get one.)

another case we had back in 2002 was this: we orgainsed a 15 car cruise and set a meeting point at yatala. when we left I had to kick another 10 cars OFF the tail of us (we were all on two way radios.) out front of said meeting place before we could continue on. the police sat beside us the whole way to NSW despite us hoppping on the radio and telling them we were doing nothing wrong. (we were doing a byron run for sun up photos.) they marked us with two unmarked cars watching us the entire way thinking we were going to race. we were out for a nice under the limit drive to watch the sun come up in byron and nothing else.

as been said its the twits that spoil it. get rid of those and it works.

Yeah i even got a call one sunday morning from browns plains police accusing me of doing burnouts down there which i wasnt (was in a N13 Exa) i was there but parked and watched. since then my involvement in the car scene has been fairly limited.

likewise. I go out occasionally but thats it.

that said - who's going to clean the mess up that is left when everyone leaves. aspley parking lot is atrocious after everyone leaves.

car scene died a long long time ago, i use to venture to aspley mcdonalds for a look now and then, but got over it. it now seems to be all preteen school idiots or old guys trying to relive the 70's

good luck with it mate, hope it doesnt go sour.

EDIT

No Meeting will be held tomorrow night 23rd October 2007 at PCYC Zillmere. All systems go! There will definately be a meet Thursday, November 1st at the Toombul carpark. So see you all there! And I stress, please don't bring any wankers, because if all goes well, this will definately be an ongoing event for Thursday night cruisers. If you have Any ideas or suggestions with regards to the night, for the future, then feel free to let us know ;)

    • OK, Step 3, if you need to remove the valve body, either to replace it, the TCM, or to do a more complete drain.  First, you need to disconnect the TCM input wires, they are about half way up the transmission on the drivers side. One plug and the wires are out of the way, but there is also a spring clip that stops the socket from sliding back into the transmission. On my car the spring clip was easy to get, but the socket was really stuck in the o-ring of the transmission housing and took some.....persuasion. You can see both the plug to remove (first) and the spring clip (second) in this pic Incidentally, right next to the plug, you can see where the casting has allowance for a dispstick/filler which Nissan decided not to provide. there is a cap held on with a 6mm head bolt that you can remove to overfill it (AMS recommend a 1.5l overfill). Final step before the big mess, remove the speed sensor that is clipped to the valve body at the rear of the box.  Then removal of the Valve Body. For this the USDM Q50 workshop manual has a critical diagram: There are a billion bolts visible. Almost all of them do not need to be removed, just the 14 shown on the diagram. Even so, I both removed one extra, and didn't check which length bolt came from which location (more on that later....). Again it is worth undoing the 4 corners first, but leaving them a couple of turns in to hold the unit up....gravity is not your friend here and trans oil will be going everywhere. Once the corners are loose but still in remove all the other 10 bolts, then hold the valve body up with 1 hand while removing the final 4. Then, everything just comes free easily, or like in my case you start swearing because that plug is stuck in the casing. Done, the valve body and TCM are out
    • OK, so if you are either going for the bigger fluid change or are changing the valve body which includes the Transmission Control Module (TCM), first you should have both a new gasket 31397-1XJ0A and a torque wrench that can work down to 8Nm (very low, probably a 1/4 drive one). You can probably get by without either, but I really didn't want to pull it all apart together due to a leak. First, you now need that big oil pan. The transmission pan is 450 long x 350 wide, and it will probably leak on all sides, so get ready for a mess. There are 24x 6mm headed bolts holding the pan on. I undid the 2 rear corners, then screwed those bolts back in a couple of turns to let the pan go low at that end, then removed all the middle bolts on each side. Then, undo the front corner bolts slowly while holding the pan up, and 80% of the fluid will head out the rear. From there, remove the remaining bolts and the pan is off. You can see it is still dripping oil absolutely everywhere...it dripped all night.... I got another couple of litres when I removed the pan, and then another few when I removed the valve body - all up another 4l on top of the 3 already dropped in step 1.
    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
