19" Wheels For R33 Gts25t

Hey there, if anyone has 19" wheels on there R33 GTS25t I was just wondering how it effects the cars performance as in handling & grip etc..

I'm concidering purchasing a set of 19" rims but I'm worried about scrubbing, rough & bumpy ride, excess stress on bearings, bushes etc.

My car is a daily driver so I want it to be very pratical & not unberiable to live with day in & day out.

Currently I have some 17x7 with 235x45 bf goodrich tyres on stock suspension & the car is just fine as a daily driver although I could go a little bit tighter on the suspension. If anyone could give me feedback it would be greatly appreciated.

I had 19's. THe ride was a tad rougher. Nothing to write home about

Right about the tyres being super expensive though for anything decent. Didnt relly notice a different in handling and it wont scrub if you get you measurements right.

negatively. more unsprung weight means poorer handling, worse acceleration and the standard suspension will have trouble controlling them nicely. of course they are also illegal. personally I think it's a bad idea all round, but if you must have 19s for some reason then go for it. I mean it's not like your whole car will fall appart instantly, but there are certainly negative effects.

What do you recommend to be the best set up? 18's?? Keep in mind I was considering upgrading the suspension but this brings me back to what is the ideal setup for grip and street use? I'm not really interested into turning my car into a drift machine I'm more set on having a responsive grippy package so the car is more of a pleasure to drive.

I have found some places in the U.S that will sell & deliver 19" tyres or most size tyres at a more than reasonable price, since the oz dollar is so strong the US prices are hard to look past.

na... wont hurt. i had 17inch volk rims with stock struts, stock suspension and stock compressed springs and i have upgraded to 20s. hasnt in anyway affected the cars performance or handling, but it would pay to stiffin suspension with some shorter shocks and sport springs, car tends to scrape the inside of the front wheel wells when hitting dips on the road. also when putting rims on the front you wouldnt be able to slide a piece of paper between the wheel and the struts hehe!. 19s should fit no problem in the back and as far as the front goes selecting the size of the tire will determine if you will scrape on the inside of the guard knowing you have stock suspension gears...

I would go for a 245 or maybe 235, 35 profile for the front. I was looking to upgrade the suspension with something a little stiffer and just a tiny bit lower but I still want a comfy ride. I think there is more to gain from installing thicker swaybars and strut braces and trying to reduce the roll. Does anyone know what is a coil over that is good for road use?

Does anyone know what the correct offset for 19" wheels are so that there wouldn't be any issues?

If 245 were too much for the front then I would go 235. I currently have 235 on my 17x7 at the front and these have no issues what so ever.

i got no issues with 245 on the front. The 33 guards a quiet big to fill. i can full lock no probs, saying that though.. if a hit a nasty( real nasty) bump it scraps a tiny bit, but nothing that is of a real concern.

      Before starting any work, we attempted to adjust the tune. However even after adjusting it to certain extremes like completely stopping fuel, it had no effect. What fixed it was removing the Nistune Board and installing the original EPROM instead. This immediately fixed the issue. Everything should have been fine with the Nistune Board installation, so I am unsure why it has caused a problem. The soldered connector is also properly soldered. This worked when I first got the 550cc injectors, before cleaning, but that may have been a coincidence.  We ended up not installing the fuel pump hanger (at least for now). So currently running stock injectors, stock fuel pump, stock fuel pump hanger – Well everything stock except the exhaust. Now I have around €1400 in Nistune, Injectors, and Hanger collecting dust for the time being, perhaps I'll install them in the future. For now I'll enjoy the car as is 😁 Thanks a lot for all your assistance, I really appreciate all the help you have given me.

      The turbo can’t be the issue. They’re proven to make much much power than you’re making. There is something in the setup that isn’t correct. - has the exhaust got any silly step downs? - what exhaust manifold?

      Ok, just the way you wrote it made it look like you had the stagger the wrong way around

      I was getting anxious with the DVLA not knowing if the paperwork is fine or not, so I rang them. No update had been given, but I  was reassured that providing the box was ticked on the V750 then the application will go through fine. I've been checking the DVLA website pretty much every day, in the hope that it would have been done. Fast forward to Monday 29th  and I was greeted with a new screen on the check, and it finally showed as Taxed and MOT'd, woohoo! The car was in desperate need of a clean, not knowing when this day was coming it was put off. As far as I was concerned I had another 3 weeks  I'm not normally one for using snow foam, but I wanted to give it another try It hasn't cleaned up too bad considering it's 21 years old and lived on a boat for a number of weeks. The personalised number plate is J2 XBK, an illegally spaced number plate would have it read J2X BK. BK could either represent  the colour black or Baker, which is my surname. I filmed the first drive, the Youtube link will be at the end.
