Hi guys

Maybe this has already been covered but if you dont know why there isnt any V power racing at your local servo heres why.

(i spoke to people at the shell servo to find out).

Apparently a shipment of octane-boosting-chemicals is shipped from geelong to queensland where it is mixed at the refineries to get 100 octane fuel. HOwever there have been troubles with this shipment and as a result the octane-boosting-chemicals have not been delivered to the refineries so they cant make V-Power Racing.

is it any good for our cars

Yes and no . 100 ron means you can tune it with more timming so you get a little more power.

No because ethonol is not a lubricant like oil it is corrosive .. You make your own choice ..The good bit about it, it only has 5% ethonol..

Owgasm , It is not % mate its 100ron and V power is 98 ron , you can buy 91,95,98 and 100 rom pump fuel here now .

I've not seen a V-Power Racing Pump

Or just thought V-Power was the only option :S

anyone been to the shell at Logan Lea. Did/do they have V-Power Racing. I fueled up today and used V-Power it was red, no idea if it was V-power Racing.

But i got a pack of CARDS!! :) lol! Collecting cards.

Its true, but the actual fuel isnot that mainstreem so its at selected stores. V- Power is stocked evrywhere.

Personaly i use Mobil, i find its better for me in terms of how quick it burns. Other than that, i dont havy any big mods so i cant tell if it goes harder between all the fuels. BP burnt the quickest.

Jap cars are designed to run on 100RON. However, it's a bit too expensive and inconvenient for me so I'm living with 98 RON.

Ethanol is a solvent, rather than corrosive. Petrol is a solvent as well, in many ways. Ethanol is probably a bit more aggressive which is why some people are worried about rubber fuel lines etc.

That said, Sydneykid has been running an ethanol mix in his skyline for years and regularly cuts open his fuel filters to inspect them, and has never seen any evidence of a problem. That's good enough for me.

10C on the top of 98, no use to you unless you tune your car for it .

The last lot they had at Compton Rd was selling 30c over the 98RON...that's just a f**king joke. I can pick up 500g of octane booster from a chemical supplier for $150 that's enough for 104RON with 2500L petrol!!!!

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
